Nature house in Nogueira do Cravo (OHP)

We really love this place and would love to come back again!

Wij zijn ontzettend positief over de plek en komen graag nog een keertje terug!

We had such a wonderful week in this cottage. The grounds are beautiful, surrounded by greenery and teeming with birds. The entire place has been put together with great care and attention, and you can feel that in everything. The bedrooms might be a bit on the small or low-ceilinged side, but that doesn’t really matter. The outdoor space here is so spacious and pleasant that it more than makes up for it. The absolute highlight was the wonderful pool! We felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed Joyce and Hein’s hospitality. At the same time, we had all the privacy and space we needed to follow our own rhythm. Thanks again!

Wat hebben wij een heerlijke week gehad in dit huisje. Het terrein is prachtig, omgeven door groen en volop vogels. De hele plek is met veel zorg en aandacht samengesteld, en dat voel je in alles. De slaapkamers zijn misschien wat aan de kleine/lage kant, maar dat doet er eigenlijk niet toe. Het buitenleven is hier zo ruim en fijn dat het dat ruimschoots compenseert. Het absolute hoogtepunt was het heerlijke zwembad! We voelden ons direct thuis en genoten enorm van de gastvrijheid van Joyce en Hein. Tegelijkertijd hadden we alle privacy en ruimte om helemaal ons eigen ritme te volgen. Nogmaals, bedankt!

The cottage is in a beautiful place and is fully equipped. Hein and Joyce are always happy to chat and regularly ask if everything is still to your liking (which was always the case with us). They give you the feeling that there is all the space and freedom to do your own thing in the house or on the grounds. The transition from the hustle and bustle of the Netherlands to the peace and quiet of the cottage ensured that we went home relaxed and did not really want to leave the place behind when we left. We definitely recommend the cottage and the location, if only for a nice meeting with Hein and Joyce.

Het huisje staat op een prachtige plek en is van alle gemakken voorzien. Ontzettend lief dat er bij aankomst al groente en fruit van het land aanwezig was en daarnaast waren er al wat standaard kruiden in huis of in de tuin te vinden om te gebruiken.
Hein en Joyce zijn in voor een praatje en vragen regelmatig of het nog naar je zin is (wat bij ons altijd zo was). Ze geven je verder het gevoel dat er alle ruimte en vrijheid is om je eigen ding te doen in het huis of op het terrein.
De overgang van de drukte van Nederland naar de rust en stilte van het huisje zorgden er voor dat wij ontspannen naar huis gingen en bij vertrek de plek eigenlijk niet wilden achterlaten.
Wij raden het huisje en de locatie zeker aan, al is het maar voor een fijne ontmoeting met Hein en Joyce.

What a lovely and quiet place this is on a beautiful piece of land. There are many places on the property where you can stay, the hammocks at the cottage are great and the pool is also delicious. Furthermore, you are free to explore the terrain and if you encounter fruit or herbs on the way, you can pick them. A little further on there are goats, occasionally you see some (stray) cats sprinting across the terrain and in terms of sound you often hear only the birds. In the area you can do good shopping and the Serra da Estrela Natural Park is definitely worth a visit. Incidentally, there is an extensive folder in the house with all kinds of tips for walks, nature spots, markets, restaurants and towns you can visit. And if you want tips, you can also ask Hein & Joyce who will help you with all their love.

Wat is dit een heerlijke en rustige plek op een mooi stuk grond. Er zijn op het terrein veel plekjes gemaakt waar je goed kunt vertoeven, de hangmatten bij het huisje zijn top en het zwembad is ook heerlijk. Verder staat het je vrij om het terrein te ontdekken en als je onderweg fruit of kruiden tegenkomt, mag je dat ook nog eens plukken.
Een stukje verderop zijn er geitjes, af en toe zie je wat (zwerf)katten over het terrein sprinten en qua geluid hoor je vaak alleen de vogels.

In de omgeving kun je prima boodschapjes doen en het natuurpark serra da estrela is zeker het bezoeken waard.
Overigens ligt er een uitgebreid map in het huisje met allerlei tips aan wandelingen, natuurplekjes, marktjes, restaurants en plaatsjes die je kunt bezoeken. En als je tips wilt, kun je het ook nog eens aan Hein & Joyce vragen die je met alle liefde helpen.

Beautiful country garden and yard with porch and pool. Plenty of walking opportunities.

Prachtige landelijke tuin en erf met veranda en zwembad. Voldoende wandelmogelijkheden.
