Nature house in IJhorst

Our B&B is located in the beautiful town of IJhorst, right next to the Reestdal nature reserve. IJhorst is situated on the border between Overijssel and Drenthe. There are plenty of cycling and hiking trails in this area At Bed and Breakfast Aan het Reestdal, you’ll stay in a completely detached, private two-person apartment. The apartment features a ground floor and an upper floor. On the ground floor, you’ll find the kitchenette, dining table, and bathroom/toilet. The upper floor features a living area and a separate bedroom. Next to the entrance is a spacious terrace with a view of the beautiful Reestdal. You can park your car easily and conveniently right next to the apartment. You can make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant right next door (Het Vergulde Ros). Our B&B apartment is literally located right next to the nature reserve and offers unobstructed views. The apartment, including the seating area at the back of the garden, is entirely at your disposal—enjoy the peace and quiet and our hospitality.

The little river Reest winds its way through a region where flower-filled meadows, old hedgerows, ash trees, heathland, and woods alternate. The nature reserves around the Reest, managed by Drents Landschap and Landschap Overijssel, are unique. Amid the hay meadows, small fields, heathlands, and forests, many rare plants and animals can be found. The Reest Valley lies on the border between the provinces of Overijssel and Drenthe. The Reest Valley can be roughly divided into three core areas, each with its own distinct character. Around IJhorst-De Wijk, the estates are situated along the Reest River. In Oud-Avereest-Rabbinge, there are many characteristic farmhouses, and there are hamlets featuring hay meadows, ash groves, coppice woodlands, heathland, and ponds. The Staphorsterbos is a large, contiguous forest area with heathland and ponds.
