Nature house in Veldhoven (Oerle)

Comfortable seating inside and out, the shower was great, the bed was wonderful, and the cooking options were a bit limited but perfectly fine. We had bought a fresh food package, and that turned out to be a bit more work without our own kitchen supplies. The fresh food package was for 4 people, with the idea of not cooking the next evening, but the pans were designed for smaller dishes. Peeling carrots with a cheese slicer and finely chopping garlic instead of pressing it. Lesson learned for us: keep it simple :-) but otherwise just great and definitely worth repeating!

Lekker zitje binnen en buiten, douche prima, bed heerlijk, kookmogelijkheden iets beperkt maar prima. Wij hadden een verspakket gekocht, en dat bleek zonder je eigen keukenspullen wat bewerkelijker. Het verspakket was voor 4 personen, met het idee een volgende avond niet te koken, alleen waren de pannen gericht op kleinere gerechten. Wortels schillen met de kaasschaaf en knoflook fijnsnijden ipv persen. Leerpunt voor ons: keep it simple :-) maar verder gewoon prima en voor herhaling vatbaar!

It was wonderfully peaceful, and I slept so well. It took a little while to get used to the planes flying overhead, but you get used to it quickly. By the way, they only fly during the day until 11 p.m. at the latest, but there were even times in the evening when I didn’t hear them at all. It varies, and when you’re out and about, you don’t even notice them.
It’s also nice to go for walks from the cottage. In Vessem, there’s a Pilgrims’ Inn where you can stop for a cup of coffee and a rest. There’s also a pilgrim’s trail to walk in Brabant. In any case, it’s easy to hike to the picturesque spots around the cottage. From the cottage, you can also follow a mountain bike and cycling route.
You can also enjoy the adorable alpacas, cheerful little birds, busy bees, and other interesting insects right by the cottage ;-)

Heerlijk rustig en heerlijk geslapen. Het was wel even wennen aan de overvliegende vliegtuigen, maar dat went uiteindelijk snel. Ze vliegen overigens alleen overdag tot uiterlijk 23uur, maar heb ze ook 's avonds eens helemaal niet gehoord. Het varieert en wanneer je op pad bent merk je er ook niets van.
Verder lekker wandelen vanuit het huisje. In Vessem is een Pelgrimshoeve waar je welk bent voor een bakkie en rust. Er is ook een pelgrimsronde te lopen in Brabant. Sowieso kun je ook gemakkelijk wandelen naar de plaatjes rondom het verblijf. Vanuit het huisje is ook een MTB en fietsroute te volgen.
Ook is het bij het huisje te genieten van de aandoenlijke alpaca's, vrolijke vogeltjes, bezige bijtjes en andere interessante insectjes ;-)
