This cozy home features more than what you would expect from a vacation home. Uylenhorst has an open kitchen, comfortable sitting area with wood stove, two bedrooms and a box bed. The kitchen, with 6-burner Boretti stove with 2 ovens, has everything you need for great cooking. The living area with long dining table is suitable for an intimate dinner or a festive dis. There is good wifi, a widescreen TV with Netflix and music via bluetooth. Outside by the French doors is a large dining table and the upper terrace with deck chairs has an outdoor shower. With a little luck you can even spot deer here. From the garden you can walk straight into the woods with several hiking trails and in the area you will find varied bicycle routes. If it gets chilly, you can enjoy a fire in the wood stove. The whole house has central heating and double glazing, so there is a pleasant temperature everywhere. Whether you come as a couple or with a larger group, you will certainly feel at home.
Nature and surroundings
Uylenhorst is located in the woods on the border of the province of Drenthe with Overijssel near the border river the Reest, an ancient stream valley. The Reest still has its original course with a very unique character with hay meadows, fields, heaths, forests, estates and monumental farms. In a nearby forest, De Zwarte dennen, you can enjoy walking and wildlife spotting. In season you can even take a refreshing dip in natural water. Special National Parks such as De Weerribben-Wieden and Dwingelderveld can be found in the region. You can also visit special gardens such as the gardens of Mien Ruys and the garden of estate De Havixhorst. For more culture, the trendy Hanseatic city of Zwolle is nearby. Meppel is within cycling distance and is a cozy and lively provincial town with surprising stores, terraces and several restaurants. The house is located in a fireworks-free nature park and is well insulated only we have no influence on the further environment.
