Nature house in Ommen

This thatched cottage is located in the Vecht Valley, overlooking a sprawling garden and meadows. This charming Scandinavian-style nature house (sleeps 2), offering plenty of privacy, is situated in the countryside outside Ommen. Here, you’ll feel like you’re in paradise. You’ll truly feel like you’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is a popular destination for writers, nature lovers, and those seeking peace and quiet. In the spacious private garden (approx. 2,000 m²), you’ll always find spots in the sun and shade on sunny days. The cottage, which is still new, is comfortable and filled with natural light. The decor is calm and warm. There’s a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom is spacious and includes a washing machine. In addition to the spacious private garden with several seating areas, you’ll enjoy a lush pond and flower garden (over 5,000 m²). There are plenty of seating spots here as well. There’s a woodland garden where you can pick fresh herbs in the summer. Tip: turn on the Merlin Bird app. Which birds can you spot? In this cottage, electricity usage exceeding 4 kWh per day will be charged.

The cottage is located at the back of a nature-rich property. We—Floris and Foekje—moved here in 2020 to enjoy the peace and quiet and to make a dream come true: to show people how beautiful nature is, that nature “heals,” and that it brings you closer to your “inner self.” Our property borders a forest. Hiking and biking trail junctions are nearby. We collaborate with the Den Woesten Heide Estate, which also borders our property. This beautiful estate features a wide variety of landscapes, including many hectares of forest, heathlands, and the Varsenerveld nature reserve. We’d love to show you around. For groceries or more entertainment, you’ll find one of Overijssel’s oldest Hanseatic towns about 5 kilometers away: the town of Ommen. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful banks of the Vecht River to your heart’s content. Our guests also enjoy visiting the lovely Hanseatic city of Zwolle. It’s about a 20-minute drive away. Don’t be surprised, though, if by the end of your stay you realize you’ve barely left the property at all.
