About this nature house

This place is our sacred go-to spot when we want to get out of the city and immerse ourselves in nature. It has special significance for our family because it was here that as a child, we would spend whole days watching over the cows, reading and dreaming as the sun moved across the sky towards dusk. We have recently completed renovations, adding solar & central heating and we would love to share it with people who are looking for a unique experience in an unexplored region of Portugal.

Nature and surroundings

You are a few kilometers from the nearest village, which itself is off the beaten track. The village, called Soutelo Mourisco, is where Teresa was born. There you can see the classic, granite stone houses, centuries old, that give the villages in this region their unique look. From the cabin, it takes about 20 minutes to walk up to this village. Along the way you will see plantations of chestnut trees, one of the main staples of the local economy. At different times of the year, you may come across a family of wild boars, foxes, deers or a flock of pheasants hiding in the wheat fields.
