Nature house in Olst

On the southern edge of Olst, among the fields and overlooking farmlands and forests, lies the Earthhouse neighborhood known from television (www.aardehuis.nl). An eco-neighborhood built by the residents themselves, where a true residential paradise has emerged from sustainability; green, lavish, car-free. On the edge of the neighborhood is this eco house, with unobstructed views over the fields and the edge of the forest. This house has beautiful organic shapes, natural elements such as a beech tree with side branch in the living room, a mosaic countertop, mosaic artwork on the wall, an exotic bathroom with beautifully shaped shower a homemade ceramic sink. Nothing is ordinary, everything is made with care, creativity and love. This particular eco home is a combination of ecological living (solar panels, solar water heater, a sawdust compost toilet that you empty into the compost bin once every three days) and luxury (internet, electric hot plate, oven, hammock and a piano). Due to our dog, house is not suitable for people with dog allergy.

The lush south-facing garden with unobstructed views to the forest edge, has a sheltered exotic sitting area, a second sitting area with picnic table, always a choice between shade and sun, a hammock, fire basket and barbecue. You can eat from your own garden; berries, raspberries, strawberries galore. From the house you walk straight into nature; for walks or bike rides in the beautiful estates with stately mansions, get lost in the woods or get a breath of fresh air along the river IJssel. There is a walking and cycling node near the house, good for many routes. Near Den Nul and near Heerde you will find a beautiful swimming lake(s), a swimming pool is in Deventer and in Wijhe. The beautiful Hanseatic city of Deventer is 30 minutes by bike, 10 minutes by car and 5 minutes by train. Public transportation is only 7 minutes walk from the vacation home. Wellnes/sauna is nearby (Bussloo/Veluwse Bron). A visit to Castle Nijenhuis with its sculpture garden or Museum de Fundatie is also worth a visit.
