Nature house in Eijsden

Our general experience with this nature house is that it is not Nature House-worthy. The treatment from arrival at the property particularly unfriendly. We had parked the car next to other parked cars after a 2.5 hour drive. Immediately we were asked if we were Dutch and could read Dutch and that we knew we were parked wrong. However, the subsequently pointed parking lot was closed with a substantial fence. The arrival on the property is not inviting, next to the garbage collection area, lavering among the cocksuckers. The lady who let us into the apartment was friendly. But, we were not allowed to sit on the seating in the courtyard (in the sun). Nor on the bench in front of our own window. However, we were allowed in the shady backyard.The house itself needs attention. The kitchen wall is not maintained, the bathrooms and toilet were not fresh, the bedrooms stuffy, the house is noisy, furniture is uncomfortable. The roosters are terrible.

Onze algemene ervaring met dit natuurhuisje is dat het niet Natuurhuisje-waardig is.
De bejegening vanaf de aankomst op het terrein bijzonder onvriendelijk. We hadden na een autorit van 2,5 uur de auto geparkeerd naast andere geparkeerde auto’s.
Direct werd ons gevraagd of we wel Nederlanders waren en wel Nederlands konden lezen en dat we dan wisten dat we verkeerd geparkeerd stonden. Het daarna gewezen parkeerterrein was echter afgesloten met een flink hek.
De aankomst op het terrein is niet uitnodigend, naast de vuilverzamelplek, laverend tussen de hanenkak.
De dame die ons in het appartement binnen liet was vriendelijk. Maar, we mochten niet in de binnentuin (in de zon) op de zitjes plaats nemen. Ook niet op het bankje voor ons eigen raam. Wel in de schaduwrijke achtertuin.
Het huis zelf vergt aandacht. De keukenmuur is niet onderhouden, de badkamers en toilet waren niet fris, de slaapkamers benauwd, het huis is gehorig, meubilair is oncomfortabel. De hanen zijn vreselijk.

The peace was unfortunately far from it with all the roosters (there were at least 20 running around the yard) around the farmhouse. These started crowing at 4:30 and since the rooms were too small, too hot and too stuffy to sleep with the windows closed, we were all awakened very early in the morning by the deafening noise of so many roosters crowing against each other. Also, the house is noisy. We could hear the neighbors' doors opening and closing. Even so, that some thought people were entering our apartment at night.The space in the house. The bedrooms are very small for two-person rooms. The beds are just a bag width apart and in some rooms you almost have to climb over one bed to get into the other. The rooms on the second floor are poorly ventilated. The space in the living room was adequate, however, it felt a bit like a waiting room due to the lack of a nice couch, for example.

De rust was helaas ver te zoeken met alle hanen (er liepen er zeker 20 op het erf) om de hoeve. Deze begonnen om half 5 te kraaien en aangezien de kamers te klein, te warm en te bedompt waren om met de ramen dicht te slapen, waren wij allemaal ’s morgens al heel vroeg wakker door het oorverdovende lawaai van zoveel hanen die tegen elkaar in gingen kraaien. Ook is het huis gehorig. We hoorden de deuren bij de buren open en dicht gaan. Zelfs zo, dat sommigen dachten dat er ’s nachts mensen bij ons in het appartement binnen kwamen.

De ruimte in huis. De slaapkamers zijn heel erg klein voor twee persoonskamers. De bedden staan net een tasbreedte uit elkaar en bij sommige kamers moet je bijna over een bed heen klimmen om in het andere bed te komen. De kamers op de tweede verdieping zijn slecht te ventileren.

De ruimte in de huiskamer was voldoende, echter deed dit wat wachtkamer-achtig aan door het ontbreken van bijvoorbeeld een fijne bank.

A very spacious and high apartment (10 pers) located in the courtyard of the farmhouse with other apartments. Beautiful spacious terrace with garden and curious horses. Did not use the BBQ - although it could have been as far as the weather is concerned. Nice also that the many chickens and especially roosters roam freely on the premises. Once used to the roosters having the highest word - the experience was complete.

Een heel ruim en hoog appartement (10 pers) gelegen aan de binnenplaats van de hoeve met nog meer appartementen. Mooie ruim terras met tuin en nieuwsgierige paarden. Geen gebruik gemaakt van de BBQ - al had het wat weer betreft wel gekund.
Leuk ook dat de vele kippen en vooral hanen los rondlopen op het terrein. Eenmaal gewend aan de hanen die het hoogste woord hadden - was de ervaring wel compleet.

Beautifully located in the middle of rolling quiet area for hiking (or cycling if you like). Village with all necessary stores and also a day trip to Maastricht is nearby. It was not noticeable in the area that it was a long weekend in the autumn vacations.

Prachtig gelegen midden in glooiend rustig gebied om te wandelen (of fietsen als je dat wil). Dorp met alle benodigde winkels en ook een dagje Maastricht is in de nabijheid.
Het was in de omgeving niet te merken dat het een lang weekend in de herfsvakantie was.

Wij hadden een 10 persoons huis. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel een hele klim naar de 2e verdieling (35 traptreden ).

Wij vonden het heerlijk. Je moet alleen wel houden van de hanen die vroeg kraaien
