We’re Joost and Lara, and we live with our daughters in beautiful Den Velde, along with our dogs, cat, chickens, and horses—a true haven for lovers of the outdoors. The nature house has two bedrooms, both with a double bed. The bathroom is simple and equipped with a shower and toilet. In the kitchen, you’ll find an oven, a 6-burner gas stove, and a Nespresso machine with a milk frother. You’ll still have to wash dishes by hand, but that’s part of the charm. In the kitchen-diner, the wood stove provides warmth and ambiance; a basket of firewood will be waiting for you upon arrival. Outside, you can relax at the picnic table or by the fire pit. For extra relaxation, there’s a hot tub.

The cottage is located in the beautiful Vecht Valley, near the town of Gramsbergen. The Pieterpad trail runs just 800 meters from the cottage. If you head in the other direction, you’ll arrive in Coevorden, in the province of Drenthe. Or visit the lively food market in Emmen on Friday mornings. Shopping in Germany is also an option. We had a very nice time. Lara and her family are very nice, have a beautiful yard with sweet dogs, a cat and horses. The cottage and hot tub were lovely, and we made a fire and were able to cook extensively in the fine kitchen.
