Cozy guesthouse overlooking the meadows at the back, while at the front from the dike you overlook the harbor of Durgerdam. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves: the house is located on the Zuiderzeedijk. Ideal base for walking and cycling through Waterland, with the city just around the corner. Only 6 km from the center of Amsterdam you can enjoy everything Amsterdam has to offer. In addition, you can enjoy running, swimming, canoeing, fishing, windsurfing, sailing and there is also a golf course nearby. The living room adjoins the terrace overlooking the ditch and meadows where cows graze in summer, and also meadow birds, hares and pheasants scurry around. On the terrace (facing west) you can barbecue in the setting sun.
Nature and surroundings
Durgerdam is a picturesque former fishing village on the Zuiderzeedijk, under the smoke of Amsterdam. The place consists almost entirely of a long row of picturesque - mostly wooden - houses on a narrow road on top of the old Zuiderzeedijk and has had a protected village sight since 1976. The village is surrounded by water on one side and meadows on the other, an area known as Waterland. It is a peat meadow landscape bordering the Markermeer, where many meadow and water birds rest and forage. Small game such as hares, pheasants and the like are also often seen there.
