The cottage is a former horse stable and is fully equipped. It is located freely behind the farm. You have a lot of privacy: your own terrace and parking space, access to the orchard, free view of the meadows. There are no other guests on the farm. It is a lovely place where everyone feels immediately at home.
Nature and surroundings
The farm is located on the edge World Heritage Site in De Beemster with its special landscape of rows of trees, dikes, ditches and meadows. Just a 5-minute walk takes you to the picturesque village of De Rijp, where you can imagine yourself a few centuries back among all the monumental houses. There you will also find a wide choice of restaurants. Behind De Rijp lies the beautiful nature reserve De Eilandspolder. The location is a perfect base from which to explore this part of the Netherlands. You can explore the area on foot or by bike, but also in a (whisper) boat or on a bike-sup. The North Sea beach is only 20 to 25 km away (Bergen, Egmond, Castricum) or a little further and also quieter Callantsoog , Hargen or Groet. Also the IJsselmeer beach at Edam, Warder or Monnickendam is lovely and only 20 km away. Alkmaar, Haarlem, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Amsterdam are all fairly nearby, and there are good bus services to Amsterdam or Alkmaar. Book museums in Amsterdam in advance online!
