This mountain hut was built in 1985 and originally served as a clubhouse for the local sports and ski club. In summer 2020, the hut was completely renovated and equipped with modern and cozy furniture. The mountain hut has 2 bedrooms, which are located in the attic. A large bedroom with 1 double bed + 2 single beds and a small bedroom with double bed + 1 single bed. On the upper "first floor" there is a fully equipped kitchen with a cozy wood stove. An electric stove is of course also available. Furthermore, on this floor there is a large living room with a pull-out sofa bed for 2 people, flat screen and satellite TV, a very small bathroom with shower, a large entrance area and a storage room. Not to be forgotten is the very large and covered terrace, which is a highlight for many, as it is a wonderful place to relax in the warm months from May to the end of September.
Nature and surroundings
The mountain hut is located in a small valley at approx. 650 m above sea level. On the sunny southern side of the Low Tatras, our mountain hut is situated in an absolutely secluded location on a meadow of approx. 5 hectares. Sheep graze on it in summer and it is surrounded by extensive forests and mountains, which rise up to the highest peaks of the Low Tatras. A forest road connects the mountain hut with the village of Horna Lehota. This also leads to the Krpacovo recreation area. Here you will find a beautiful swimming lake. You can easily reach Krpacovo via the forest road by car in approx. 10 minutes, by mountain bike in approx. 30 minutes and via a very beautiful hiking trail in approx. 1 hour. There is a small stream right next to the mountain hut. You can do your small shopping for your daily needs in the village and enjoy the cozy atmosphere and freshly tapped Slovakian beer in the typical Slovakian village pub.
