In 2010 we bought this dream spot. Wonderfully quiet, nice former farmhouse, nice spacious garden. We did a lot of renovations to get the inside of our farmhouse back into the old farm atmosphere. Then came the plan to make an apartment in the huge garage. With the same rural farm style but with the luxury you would expect. Purpose: Recreational rental and our guests appreciate Koeterdekoet very much. For guests a private parking space, a private entrance and path to the front door. Living room is 24m2 and the hall is also equipped with a toilet. Nowadays also with CD and record player! Bring your own CD/LP's. Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, floor heating and 2nd toilet. Bed linen, Bath towels, tea and towels, it's all there. There is a spacious terrace with firepit / BBQ behind and an additional terrace on the west where you evening eg while enjoying a glass of wine, view of grazing cows, watching the sun go down.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is wonderfully quietly located about 1 km from the West Frisian village of Oterleek, The place is a piece of cultural historical area. It was once a peninsula between the lakes Waerd and the Schermer. The old maps show this nicely but now it has all been reclaimed. The contours, however, are still visible. No traffic nearby, just cows, sheep, hares, croaking frogs, toads and lots of birds. Don't be surprised to see a spotted woodpecker, buzzards, blue and great egrets looking for a tender frog in the ditch or an owl in the tree. Nearby, within cycling distance is the beautiful historic city of Alkmaar but also Hoorn, Enkhuizen are e.g. worth a visit. Furthermore, many quiet picturesque ribbon villages and polders such as the Schermer, Wogmeer and the Beemster. You can also go into nature, where there are many cycling and walking opportunities. On hot days, at ± 15km, there is the beach to cool off and grab a terrace at a beach pavilion.
