Nature house in Westerbork

There’s plenty to do in the area. One plus is that bicycles are available. Since the weather was pretty nice, we were out and about a lot. If the weather had been bad, we would have left sooner—the cottage didn’t really make you want to spend much time inside. So, for us, this cottage isn’t somewhere we’d stay again.

Er is voldoende te doen in de omgeving. Pluspunt is de aanwezigheid van fietsen. Omdat het weer best mooi was waren we veel weg. Als het slecht weer was geweest waren we eerder vertrokken, het huisje nodigde niet uit om veel binnen te zijn. Dit huisje voor ons dus niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

The cottage is located in a beautiful setting; from the small park, you can walk right out onto the heath.
The cottage itself is a bit dated, though it has comfortable beds, a nice shower, a large patio with comfortable patio furniture, and plenty of dishes and pans in the kitchen.
However, the indoor air quality isn’t pleasant. There’s a musty, sour smell that doesn’t go away even after airing out the place thoroughly. The cottage is very damp. Upon arrival, we found the cottage to be very poorly cleaned (in our opinion, not cleaned at all). There was dog hair everywhere—on the couch and in the beds—as well as mud, hair, and dust bunnies on the floor, breakfast crumbs on the table, hair in the sink, and cobwebs along the ceilings. We spent two hours cleaning after we arrived—a very unpleasant start to our vacation.
It’s a real shame; we’ve never experienced anything like this before!

Huisje ligt in een mooie omgeving, vanaf het kleine park loop je zo de hei op.
Het huisje zelf is gedateerd, wel goede bedden, fijne douche, groot terras met prettig tuinmeubilair en voldoende servies/pannen in de keuken.
Echter is het binnenklimaat niet prettig. Er hangt een muffe, zurige lucht, dat zelf bij goed luchten niet verdwijnt. Het huisje is erg vochtig. Bij aankomst troffen we het huisje erg slecht (naar ons idee zelfs niet) schoongemaakt aan. Overal hondenharen, op de bank en in de bedden, modder, haren en stofvlokken op de vloer, ontbijtkruimels op tafel, haren in wasbak, spinrag langs plafonds. We zijn na aankomst 2 uur bezig geweest met schoonmaken, een erg vervelende start van de vakantie.
Erg jammer, wij hebben dit nog nooit meegemaakt!

A nice house in the middle of the woods with a spacious garden where it was good to stay with the wonderful weather during the Whitsun weekend.

Een fijn huis midden in de bossen met een ruime tuin waar het goed verblijven was met het heerlijke weer tijdens het Pinksterweekend.

Welcome flower on table. Complete furnishings. Everything is thought of. Bicycles in the shed. Neat and clean.

Welkomstbloemetje op tafel. Complete inrichting. Aan alles is gedacht. Fietsen in het schuurtje. Netjes en schoon.

Nice, neat cottage in a very quiet and beautiful green area. Many birds in the woodland garden. Adjacent to nature reserve SBB with roe deer, Golden Oriole, Yellow Wagtail, Stonechat. Village within walking distance via forest paths and country road.

Leuk, net huisje in een heel rustige en prachtige groene omgeving. Veel vogels in de bostuin. Aansluitend aan natuurgebied SBB met reeën, Wielewaal, Gele kwikstaart, Roodborsttapuit. Dorp op loopafstand via bospaden en landweggetje.
