Nature house in Mettmann

We loved this house—authentic and steeped in history, yet equipped with all the modern comforts. It was very quiet, and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the sofa and in the armchair, looking at the trees and listening to the birds. The underfloor heating was a blessing, too; we were always warm and cozy. Holger was very welcoming and gave us some great tips on things to do in the area. In short: highly recommended.

It was amazing to find such a quiet and green place so close to some big cities. You're just a 5-minute drive from town, but you wouldn't know it! The garden feels more like a park with its ponds, tall trees, and even visiting sheep—we were definitely able to relax here. The hosts live on the property, so you’re not completely isolated, but we didn’t see them except during check-in and check-out.

A little cottage that really has everything you need. Lovely underfloor heating for the colder days, and a kitchen that’s fully equipped.

Een huisje waar eigenlijk alles aanwezig is. Heerlijke vloerverwarming voor de koudere dagen, een keuken die rijkelijk aangekleed is.

A beautiful spot—a little cottage surrounded by greenery. It’s wonderfully quiet there, and there’s plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the sunshine.

Prachtige plek, een huisje omgeven met groen. Het is er heerlijk stil en hebt genoeg plek buiten om van het zonnetje te genieten.

Everything's great! The only thing is that the beautiful countertop is a little too low for me. But with a handy little stool, it works just fine!

Alles prima! Alleen het mooie aanrecht voor mij te laag Maar met een handig krukje erbij Goed te doen hoor !

Peace, space, and beautiful nature on Holger’s property. He was very friendly—he even brought fresh rolls on Sunday morning
and, later in the week, an apple pie from his own orchard, from which we were also allowed to take several kilos home with us.
Every room had flowers from the garden!
From here, we spent three days visiting “Manifesta 16: Art for Connection” in the Ruhr region
We also went to “Insel Hombroich” in Neuss—a modern art park with pavilions—and, of course, the nearby Neanderthal Museum!
In short, a great stay for many purposes, with a warm welcome! Thanks, Holger!

Rust, ruimte mooie natuur op het domein van Holger Die zeer sympathiek ook nog op zondagochtend verse broodjes bracht
en later in de week een appeltaart van de eigen boomgaard Waarvan wij ook nog kilo’s mee mochten nemen
Elke kamer bloemen uit de tuin!
Vanuit hier waren wij 3 dagen op bezoek bij “ Manifesta 16”Kunst ter verbinding in het Ruhrgebied
Ook nog naar “ Inselm Hombroich “ in Neus moderne kunst park met paviljoens En natuurlijk het Neanderthaler museum vlakbij !
Kortom een prima verblijf voor vele doeleinden Met warm onthaal ! Dank Holger!
