It is 15 minutes by bike to the center of Hoorn, and 30 minutes by car to the center of Amsterdam. There is also a night bus that runs all night to Amsterdam and back.

We were also allowed to use the area next to it to sit, but we didn’t because there are thick bushes in between. And so you lose contact with each other. We didn’t find that very pleasant, so we only used the area in front of the cottage. That worked just fine. (Tip for the host: clear away the bushes to create a more spacious spot by the water.)

Wij kwamen hier om te vissen, (met z’n 3en) was wat aan de krappe kant aan het water, maar lukt wel. We mochten ook het stukje er naast gebruiken om te zitten, hebben we niet gedaan omdat er flinke bosschages tussen zit. En dus geen contact meer met elkaar hebt. Dat vonden wij niet gezellig, dus wij hebben alleen het stukje voor het huisje gebruikt. Gaat ook prima.(Tip voor de verhuurder, bosschage weghalen waardoor je een ruimere plek krijgt aan het water).
Het is wat gehorig wat betreft het verkeer, maar niet heel erg als overlast ervaren. We hebben een heerlijk weekend gehad!
