This cottage is located in the front section of a North Holland-style longhouse farmhouse, situated at the foot of the Dune Reserve and on the edge of a field. The farmhouse was completely renovated in 2012 in the 1930s style (120 m²). There’s a spacious entryway for coats and boots. The roomy and cozy living room, with windows on three sides, features a large dining table and a sitting area with a TV and Wi-Fi. See the floor plan in the photos. The kitchen-diner is perfect for cooking. Farmer Ben usually brings by some tasty treats from the harvest. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom with a bathtub, walk-in shower, and separate toilet. The garden features a picnic table and lounge chairs, whether you prefer the sun or shade, or shelter from the wind. There’s a large lawn for the kids. Check out the videos on our website. Nature and surroundings
This nature house is completely energy-neutral, with a geothermal heat pump for heating and cooling and solar panels to generate our energy. The house is located on a dead-end street, nestled among farms and nature reserves. The beach is 3 km away, reachable by bike or on foot through the North Holland Dune Reserve with its forests and open, hilly dune landscape. It’s also great for biking and hiking from Haarlem to Den Helder. Behind the cottage lies a beautiful open field with the Seerijdtsdijkje and Zuiddijk nature reserves, and the Tankval, a lovely little lake teeming with birds and fish. The bus stops about 200 meters away. The Castricum train station is about 3 km away, making Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Alkmaar easily accessible by public transportation.
