Nature house in Gilze

We were there at the end of June. Count on burning yourself out of the cottage then because of the heat. There are no curtains, so getting out of bed at 05:15 in the morning is part of the deal. There are eye masks, but they are tight around your head and made of cheap plastic. We were there with our 1.5 year old son and he also had a hard time falling asleep. So you put your child in the bathroom, which smells musty so it is not very pleasant. I would not recommend this cottage in the summer and would highly recommend that the landlords install curtains throughout the property! We left anything but rested. Response from landlord: Dear, full of amazement we read your review. Indeed, at the check-out you expressed that you were thickly satisfied with your stay. When we asked if you had any tips, you indicated that it was light despite the curtains present. "But", you said, "with a child of 1.5 years old, you are used to it". We will take your tip to heart.

Wij zaten er eind juni. Reken er maar op dat je dan wegbrand uit het huisje vanwege de hitte. Er hangen geen gordijnen, dus om 05:15 ‘s ochtends je bed uit hoort er dan bij. Er liggen wel oogmaskers, maar die zitten strak om je hoofd en zijn van goedkoop plastic. We waren er met ons zoontje van 1,5 jaar oud en die kwam door de omstandigheden ook moeilijk in slaap. Je legt je kind dus in de badkamer, wat muffig ruikt dus heel prettig is dat niet. Ik zou dit huisje niet aanraden in de zomer en zou de verhuurders sterk aanbevelen gordijnen in het gehele pand te installeren! We gingen allesbehalve uitgerust weg.

Beste, vol verwondering lezen wij jullie review. Bij het uitchecken sprak jij namelijk uit dat jullie dik tevreden waren over jullie verblijf.
Op onze vraag of jullie nog tips hadden, gaf je aan dat het ondanks de aanwezige gordijnen wel licht was. “Maar”, zei je, “met een kindje van 1,5 ben je wel wat gewend”. Jullie tip nemen wij ter harte.

The surroundings and the view from the cottage are beautiful.

De omgeving en het uitzicht van het huisje zijn prachtig.

Cottage and place come in terms of a thick 10. Overall score 1 point lower because we found the village of Gilze and the immediate surroundings very boring, old-fashioned and sleepy. There was very little to do and very much closed in the days we were there (August). But to a nature house you go for your peace and quiet so in that respect it is really only top ;)

Huisje en plek komen qua cijfer op een dikke 10. Totale score 1 puntje lager omdat wij het dorpje Gilze en de directe omgeving wel erg saai, oubollig en ingeslapen vonden. Er was heel weinig te beleven en erg veel gesloten in de dagen dat wij er waren (augustus). Maar naar een natuurhuisje ga je voor je rust dus wat dat betreft is het eigenlijk alleen maar top ;)

The cottage and the place simply exceeded our expectations; we really had a great stay. The view is magnificent. There are several seats around the house (and fine beds) where you can enjoy this panoramic view and the tranquility and throughout the day (depending on what you want) in the sun or in the shade. You have complete privacy. The cottage is tastefully decorated, very attractive. Great bed and good shower and a well equipped kitchen. There is also everything in terms of walking / cycling routes, etc. For cyclists and hikers is really a Valhalla. A fine and hospitable welcome. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Het huisje en de plek overtroffen gewoonweg onze verwachting.
We hebben echt een geweldig verblijf gehad. Het uitzicht is magnifiek. Daar blijf je je over verbazen.
Er zijn rond het huisje diverse zitjes (en fijne ligbedden) waar je kunt genieten van dit wijdse uitzicht en de rust en de hele dag door (net wat je wilt) in de zon dan wel in de schaduw kunt vertoeven.
Je hebt er alle privacy.

Het huisje is met smaak ingericht, bijzonder sfeervol. Heerlijk bed en prima douche en een goed uitgeruste keuken. Er is bovendien van alles aanwezig qua wandel/fiets routes e.d.
Voor fietsers en wandelaars is het er echt een walhalla. Een fijn en gastvrij ontvangt.
We hebben echt genoten.

Je leeft hier met de natuur: geen afleiding van tv (maar wel mogelijkheid van wifi), uitzicht op groen, een houtkachel om vuur te maken een fijne plek om tot rust te komen.

Momenteel waren er weinig bloemen, maar dat lag aan het seizoen. Je hebt een wijds uitzicht tot aan de bosrand en er zijn heel wat leuke wandelingen in de buurt
