Nature house in Slootdorp

This lovely, spacious vacation/family home is beautifully situated in a rural setting right on the water, with a (fishing) dock. Here, you can completely unwind surrounded by greenery, nature, open spaces, water, woods, and many (water) birds. It features a spacious, bright living room, a large open kitchen, 4 bedrooms (1 on the ground floor), and 2 bathrooms (1 on the ground floor with a toilet), and a fenced-in, sunny garden. Everything you need for a carefree and relaxing stay is provided. From the living room, you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets and look out over the water. At the back, you look out onto the woods and the paddock where Ranchero, the big Spanish horse, and his big little friend Hansje often hang out. They’re sweet, curious, friendly, and crazy about carrots and apples. This nature house is ideal for dogs, provided they are friendly and sociable. From the house, you can walk straight into the (private) forest for lovely strolls. You can also walk for kilometers along the dike by the water, enjoying beautiful views.

The nature house is located in the northern tip of North Holland on the Amstelmeer and the Waardkanaal, on the edge of a small forest. What makes it special is that the forest is completely unmanaged; fallen trees are left where they are, which in turn fosters its own unique flora and fauna. It is home to a wide variety of birds, both in the woods and along the water. In the summer, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the Amstelmeer, where there is a dock with a swimming ladder. You can fish right outside the cottage, from the dock. Plenty of fish are caught here, including carp and bream. There are 3 canoes available for free use: 2 two-person canoes and 1 Canadian canoe for 4 people. For the little ones, a ride through the woods on Hansje the mini pony is a real treat! He also loves being brushed. The nature house is ideally located as a base for all kinds of excursions. The North Sea beach and the towns of Den Helder (ferry to Texel!), Schagen, Medemblik, and Hoorn are all within a 20-minute drive. Alkmaar is a 30-minute drive away, and Amsterdam is less than an hour away.
