Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located on the edge of a tiny village in a rural wooded surrounding between Roden and Paterswolde. We live on the Jacobspad and it is beautiful walking along the Peizerdiepje or cycling or walking in the wooded area of the Mensinghebos in Roden (the old Stuw) and the Noordsche Veld and the Langeloërduinen near Norg. To the north lie the fields of Peizermade through which you can enjoy cycling to the city of Groningen. To the northwest lies the scenic beauty of Nietap and the Leekstermeer. A paradise for bird lovers and nature lovers and children. Around the house is a large garden, vegetable garden and a small forest with a winding path that leads to the puppet theater of Johanneke in the back house. In the grove I am building a theater house where I have painted a fresco on the back wall (see photos). The cottage was exactly what we expected based on the description, but the experience was much more than that thanks to Johanneke's hospitality.

Lovely cozy cottage, and Johanneke is a very hospitable host! We sat here with our 3 children and enjoyed the puppet theater, baking together and chopping wood. Heerlijk knus huisje, en Johanneke is een hele gastvrije host! Wij hebben hier met onze 3 kinderen gezeten en genoten van het poppentheater, samen staan bakken en hout staan hakken.
