The Big House is one of 6 fine accommodations at the Hoeve. The original hay barn of the farmstead has been transformed into The Big House; a comfortable accommodation made for creating new memories! Immediately upon entering our grounds you see the combination. Step inside through the Art Deco entrance, enjoy a drink at your own bar or a hot chocolate by the soapstone stove. Prefer curled up on the couch catching up with each other or a game of table tennis on the covered terrace? Cook with each other in the large kitchen, enjoy balmy summer evenings under the weeping willows on your own terrace and dive into bed in your own room to all start the day fresh and fruity the next morning in your own bathroom. There is also a (catering) kitchen with all the trimmings. Please note, we do not allow bookings from youth groups under 25. No amplified music. Quiet hours are between 23:00 and 08:00. Use of the BBQ is an additional cost.
Nature and surroundings
On the border of Limburg and Brabant, surrounded by meadows and forests, lies Holthees. This village, in the basin of the river Meuse, houses this Hoeve, an estate that in days gone by served as accommodation for the horses of the nearby Castle Makken. Meanwhile, the old horse farm has been transformed into a fine group accommodation where freedom and respect for nature are paramount. Tucked away on a dead-end road on the edge of the forest, you will find all the space you need to immerse yourself in the Burgundian life. Celebrate life with friends and family, have a romantic weekend away, discover the area with the family or be alone in peace. Play a game of bocce on our court, enjoy an evening by the fire pit or take a nice walk in the adjacent forest. What do you come for?

We enjoyed it so much, we definitely will come back at some point.
The hosts were so lovely and welcoming, we felt immediately at home.We had an amazing relaxing and grounding weekend. The area is beautiful, so quiet and close to the forest.
The house is beautiful, the kitchen is well equipped and the common areas are big enough for 18 people and very cosy. The rooms are well thought out and beautifully decorated. That every room has its own bathroom was a big plus with so many people.
We did really enjoy the presence of the chickens and had a lot of fun going for walks to spot birds.
We can highly recommend this accommodation. -
