This converted boiler room (nature house 56455) is a great base from which to enjoy a vacation in Drenthe. The vacation home is fully equipped, cozy, and comfortable (according to our guests). An inverter provides air conditioning or heating. In the fall and winter, there’s also a wood stove (firewood included). We have guests who come back often, but let the reviews convince you—and welcome to Dalerveen! Please note! Our nature house has a double bed downstairs. Upstairs on the loft, there are two single beds. These beds are placed “low to the floor” because the ceiling is low—a “maximum” of 1.50 m at the ridge (see photo). We therefore find these beds particularly suitable for children, but a flexible adult can certainly enjoy a “cozy sleeping experience” there! Please let us know if you’re staying as a couple or if you’d prefer a separate single bed. Otherwise, we’ll automatically make up the double bed.
Nature and surroundings
Our vacation home is located along the Pieterpad. From the house, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, both in the immediate vicinity and in the various nature areas nearby. There’s also plenty of space on our own nearly two-hectare property to take a stroll and enjoy nature. The property consists of woods, an orchard, an apiary, and pastureland. We leave a large portion of the pastureland untouched so that nature can take its course. Every year, we see butterflies and many bumblebees. A mowed path winds through the tall vegetation across the property. Cycling is also a great option from this cottage. Guests enjoy the many bike routes and opportunities. We’ve noticed some return specifically for this reason. So be sure to bring your own bike.
