Nature house in Papenvoort

Small but very nice. Our personal favorite. A beautiful place on the water, ideal also for fishermen. Cozy for two, with a lovely big bed and electric heating. This sleeping trailer doesn't have a refrigerator (yet), but it does have upcycled hand-made retro curtains from ZwagAtelier, and a beautiful vase by designer Isaac Monté on the table. Outside, two all-weather outdoor chairs await you, so you can spend endless hours gazing out over the lake. And for variety, dream away by the flames of the fire pit. Comes with outdoor stove and old-fashioned privy.

Papenvoort is located in the least populated part of the Netherlands; the triangle between Rolde, Borger and Gieten. An incredibly beautiful, wooded area, with many swimming lakes, such as the Nije Hemelriek 4.5 kilometers away near Gasselte. National Park Drentsche Aa is also nearby, as is the capital of the province of Drenthe, Assen. The Mariahoeve is in the middle of the Hondsrug, a geologically unique ridge formed by ice ages that stretches from Emmen to the city of Groningen. Together with part of the surrounding area, the Hondsrug forms the only Geopark in the Netherlands. The area consists of coniferous and deciduous forests, fens, meadows, beautiful villages, streams, burial mounds, drifting sands, impressive beech avenues, heaths and fields and is ideally suited for nature lovers who love peace and quiet. There is an extensive network of cycling, equestrian and hiking trails. We are also an ideal base from which to explore the rest of Drenthe.
