Nature house in Lanaken

We had booked this nature house because of the sauna, but especially hot tub. During the tour, landlady told us it was defective. The landlord went to work on it that weekend. He tried very hard, but it was impossible to get the hot tub working. We made use of the barrel sauna that evening. It was rainy weather, everything was wet. The sloping garden under construction was muddy and slippery because there was no pavement (yet). This made it difficult to get to the hot tub and sauna. Moreover, it was pitch dark. What were we happy with our phone flashlights! Conclusion: we were very much looking forward to a weekend with certainly several times relaxing in the hot tub, in such a beautiful place, which was impossible. We find it unacceptable that this nature house is rented with hot tub while it is not in use. Moreover, the garden should be better accessible with good lighting. In this way it is dangerous there.

We hadden dit natuurhuisje geboekt vanwege de sauna, maar vooral hottub.
Tijdens de rondleiding vertelde verhuurster dat deze defect was. De huisbaas ging er dat weekend mee aan de slag. Hij heeft erg z’n best gedaan, maar het was onmogelijk de hottub werkend te krijgen. We hebben die avond gebruik gemaakt van de barrelsauna.
Het was regenachtig weer, alles was nat. De glooiende tuin in aanleg was modderig en glibberig omdat er (nog) geen bestrating was. Daardoor was ‘t moeilijk om bij de hottub en sauna te komen. Bovendien was ‘t pikdonker. Wat waren we blij met onze telefoonzaklampen!
Conclusie: we hadden ons zeer verheugd op een weekend met zeker meerdere keren lekker ontspannen in de hottub, op zo’n mooie plek, wat onmogelijk was.
We vinden het niet kunnen, dat dit natuurhuisje verhuurd wordt met hottub terwijl deze niet in gebruik is.
Bovendien zou de tuin beter begaanbaar moeten zijn met goede verlichting. Op deze manier is het er gevaarlijk.

It is a beautiful place! In terms of location: on a lake, in a sloping area. You get the feeling of sitting at the edge of a forest, especially in terms of views. You do not expect that such an old building, as it looks from the outside, is so beautifully renovated inside! It is comfortable and cozy. Everything is there for a pleasant stay. The bed is good. The bedding is not 100% cotton; that is less so. The stairs up are very narrow and steep. The reception by the landlady was warm and friendly. She is clearly very proud of the old watermill, and rightly so.

Het is een prachtige plek! Qua ligging: aan een meertje, in een glooiende directe omgeving. Je krijgt ‘n beetje ‘t gevoel aan een bosrand te zitten; zeker wb uitzicht.
Je verwacht niet dat in zo’n oud gebouw, zoals ‘t er van buiten uitziet, binnen zo mooi verbouwd is!
Het is er comfortabel en knus.
Alles is er aanwezig voor een prettig verblijf.
Het bed ligt goed. Het beddengoed is niet van 100% katoen; dat is minder. Het zweet en voelt plakkerig.
Het trapje naar boven ís zéér smal er stijl. Zéker niet geschikt voor iemand die wat slechter ter been is of flink overgewicht heeft.
De ontvangst door verhuurster was hartelijk en vriendelijk. Ze is duidelijk heel trots op de oude Watermolen, en dat is zéker terecht!

Great location, cottage good for 2. Bedrooms 2 to 2 good but house room small. In summer a dream place.

Prima locatie, huisje goed voor 2. Slaapkamers 2 om 2 goed maar huiskamertje klein. In de zomer een droom plek.

Cottage itself is fine for 2 people; with more it seems cramped to us. You have to take enough time to visit sauna, because wood-fired and about 2 hours warm-up time. Fun / relaxing to do though.

Huisje zelf voldoet prima voor 2 personen; met meer lijkt het ons krap.
Je moet voldoende tijd nemen voor bezoek sauna, want hout gestookt en circa 2 uur opwarmtijd. Wel leuk / ontspannend om te doen.

Right on the natural park. We liked the passing hikers, they often stopped to look at the water mill. And wonderful to be able to start a nice walk so from your cottage. Sufficient privacy for sauna.

Direct aan het natuurpark. We vonden de passerende wandelaars wel leuk, ze stonden vaak even stil om te kijken naar de watermolen. En heerlijk om zo vanuit je vakantiehuisje een mooie wandeling te kunnen starten. Voldoende privacy voor sauna.
