Nature house in Lonneker

This forest cottage is in a beautiful location in Twente in a large nature reserve. It has a private plot of 20,000 m2. The nature house was built in 1925 as a hunting lodge and was recently renovated while maintaining its authentic character. It is located in a unique place where you can relax and enjoy nature with total privacy. An ideal location to relax on the large veranda, by the fireplace or in the wood-fired hot tub (optional). The cottage is pure and "back to basics" (without wifi, TV, central heating). The cottage has electricity and running water from its own well and is equipped with new plumbing. It consists of a living room with wood stove, a kitchen with small refrigerator and 2 burner stove, a toilet and shower. The bedroom is in the attic and equipped with skylights. The veranda is accessible from the living room through 2 French doors. From the veranda you walk directly into the nature reserve. Upon departure on Sunday you may use the cottage until 16.00 hours.

The forest cottage is located in the middle of the Lonnekerberg nature reserve. This area is part of a belt of nature reserves on the Oldenzaal-Enschede lateral moraine and consists of an old varied forest, with heather remnants and meandering streams. Due to its special location and soil composition, many rare flora and fauna occur. In the immediate vicinity of the forest cottage are cycling, mtb and hiking trails, these run through the beautiful Twente scenery, where forest and nature areas are interspersed with old farms, meadows and fields. Nearby is the former airbase Twente, where you can experience both nature and history, there are also occasional events there. Although the cottage is located in 'the middle of nowhere', the cozy village of Lonneker with a few stores, restaurants and terraces is easily accessible by foot/bike (2 km). Furthermore, Oldenzaal and Losser are about 5 km away and Enschede and Hengelo about 10 km away.
