This restored monumental bulb barn is ideal for a quiet retreat on the outskirts of the village of Akersloot. Close to the A9, the connecting road to Alkmaar, Haarlem, Amsterdam and IJmuiden. In the village are amenities such as a, butcher, greengrocer, fish store, supermarket, drugstore, hawker, bicycle store, hairdresser, pedicure, library, café, cafeteria, Chinese restaurant, ice cream parlor. The upper floor is rented permanently by a quiet tenant (no children) and the lower floor as a nature house. It has a terrace with seating for guests of the nature house. The upstairs tenant uses the grass in the back of the large garden. Parking is available in front of the Bulb Barn (shared) or to the side on the road. Price includes: bed linen, towels and dish towels. Present: small oven, microwave, toilet paper, fan. Key transfer contactless. Bicycles can be left behind. Bike rental 1 km away. Bus stop 500 m. Beds can be apart. Please indicate.
Nature and surroundings
There are several beautiful biking, hiking, and canoeing opportunities in the immediate area such as the famous Pontjesroute; which takes cyclists by several ferries through a picturesque landscape. Sea, dunes and forest can be visited at less than 10 km in Castricum (9 km), Egmond aan Zee (15 km), Heilooerbos (11 km). In the nearby village of Uitgeest there is a beautiful sandy beach on the Alkmaardermeer that is easily accessible both by car and bicycle. In Akersloot is a sunbathing area with swimming jetty. In the evening you can enjoy the peace and quiet on the terrace or under the canopy of the Bollenschuur. Or from a nice walk through the village on old village roads along the mill or the ferry. Beautiful and quiet is a walk along the Alkmaardermeer to the Hempolder; the meadow bird area with the black-tailed godwit, lapwing, redshank, shoveler, gadwall and sometimes even the ruff. From Klein Dorregeest a dead-end polder road takes you to the viewing hut.
