Welcome to our quinta in authentic terraced landscape, where I live with my kids. We converted the former sheep stable, on the terrace below our own cottage, into a tiny guest house. In this nature house you can sleep in two superimposed double beds. The nature house has a small but fully equipped kitchenette, a wood stove for cooler days and a bathroom with a bathtub.
Nature and surroundings
In August '25 this area was ravaged by violent forest fires, fortunately nature is resilient and everything is becoming green again around us. Your booking helps us invest in the regeneration of nature around us. The river beach of the beautiful village of Avô is a 10-minute walk from our quinta, but you can also descend into our own garden and enjoy our own private beach. Within walking distance, besides the village beach, you will also find a bakery and a small supermarket. Nearby are lots of nice river beaches, one more spectacular than the other and you will find beautiful hiking trails with another fantastic view after every turn. You are away from the crowd here and you notice that. At night you can hear frogs and crickets and you can still do some old-fashioned stargazing.

The house was well furnished and even had good reliable wifi. We mostly cooked ourselves there which was no problem. The only small thing to note was the very small fridge which didn't allow to keep big amounts of fresh food .
We had a beautiful time at Lotte's and Ricardo's cottage in Avo. The place is very secluded and private and had everything we needed. We spent one week at their premises and enjoyed the quietness and tranquil surrounding. The house is not far from the town of Avo and on a slope overlooking a valley with a river to swim in.
