Situated on the Secret Wadden Island of Wieringen, right on the Amstel Lake and within walking distance of the Wadden Sea. Within fifteen minutes you are at the North Sea beach or on the ferry to Texel. Walking on Wieringen and enjoying the peace and space on this touristically undiscovered part of the Netherlands is wonderful. From the vacation home you can cycle into nature for a 25 km tour of Wieringen. Sail to Medemblik or Kolhorn. In bad weather plenty of opportunities in the vicinity: the Wadden Experience Center, Ecomare, the Marine Museum, Museum Farm Jan Lont or enjoy nice villages in the Kop van Noord-Holland such as Schagen and Bergen. A visit to the Afsluitdijk is worthwhile and while you're there you can immediately enjoy a day in Friesland in, for example, Makkum, Hindeloopen and Workum.
