Nature is just around the corner, so to speak, at this cozy wooden cottage.In the Maas village of Blitterswijck you will find a six-person house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.The cottage is located on a former vacation park (where there is also permanent residence). The park is part of a forest where it is wonderful walking. There is excellent WiFi reception in the cottage. The new kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave. The living room has doors to a sunny and partially covered terrace and a spacious garden (and hammocks available). The bedroom is on the ground floor and has its own bathroom. Two other bedrooms are on the second floor, along with the second bathroom. Each bedroom has two box-spring beds that can be easily pushed together or apart. A shed was built in 2022 where you can store your bicycles.
Nature and surroundings
Nature is around the corner, but you can also enjoy yourself along the Meuse River. From Blitterswijck a ferry sails to the other side of the Maas where the famous National Park De Maasduinen is located. Within biking distance are beautiful Maas villages like Well, Arcen, Broekhuizen and Geijsteren. Personal favorite is the Reindersmeer, a former sand reclamation site where nature has taken back control. For families with children, a visit to Irrland amusement park - just across the border in Germany, twenty minutes by car - is an absolute must (entrance 11 euros pp). There is so much to do there that one day is really not enough. Nearby is the picturesque pilgrimage town of Kevelaer. Swimming enthusiasts can visit park De Witte Vennen (less than ten minutes by car), which has a swimming lake with a beach and a long slide. For outdoor dining, visit Il Moro and Tante jet on the Meuse in Blitterswijck.
