Nature house in Noord-Bakkum - Castricum

The photos suggest a more spacious cottage, so the first impression upon arrival was slightly disappointing.

Nice hostess, view of large lawn. Complete kitchen. Neat. Small bedroom. A neat but simple accommodation. A lot of noise from planes coming straight over (depending on wind direction).

Aardige gastvrouw, uitzicht op groot grasveld. Complete keuken. Netjes. Kleine slaapkamer. Een net maar eenvoudig onderkomen. Heel veel lawaai door rechtoverkomende vliegtuigen (afhankelijk van de windrichting)

We enjoyed ourselves and will surely return for another week.

We hebben genoten en komen vast nog eens een week terug.

It was a fully equipped vacation home. In the tranquility of nature. We had plenty of privacy.The reception was very warm and in the cottage were already stuff for breakfast, so we did not have to go shopping right away. The cottage was clean and cozy. The environment was beautiful, the dune landscape of North Holland. Also some nice places nearby: Alkmaar, Egmond, Heemskerk. We mainly cycled a lot. There was noise from tractors and from airplanes, but that did not bother us.

Het was een compleet ingerichte vakantiewoning. In de rust van de natuur. Privacy hadden we genoeg.
De ontvangst was heel hartelijk en in het huisje waren al spullen voor een ontbijtje, zodat we niet gelijk boodschappen hoefden te doen. Het huisje was schoon en gezellig ingericht.
De omgeving was mooi, het duinlandschap van Noord-Holland. Ook een aantal leuke plaatsen in de omgeving: Alkmaar, Egmond, Heemskerk. Wij hebben vooral veel gefietst.
Er was geluid van traktoren en van vliegtuigen, maar dat heeft ons niet gestoord.

Both the cottage and the surroundings were so nice: we came by bike from Castricum station and could walk to the reserve. You hear and see many birds, which was very nice. Yvonne is a very nice hostess, who welcomed us nicely, including fresh tea and for the apartment also jam, orange juice and bake-off rolls. You can park your bikes safely under a shed and for those who like it: a neighbor cat likes to come and say hello and cuddle. We did occasionally hear the neighbors from a house down the road (a child, barking dog and a horse who was not very happy about something), but generally it is so quiet that you only hear birds. The cottage was very clean and had everything for a nice stay. The kitchen also has what you need for a good cooking session (oven, hand blender, etc.), we were also happy with that. Long story: we would love to come back to this place from Yvonne.

Zowel het huisje als de omgeving waren zo fijn: we kwamen met de fiets vanaf station Castricum en konden lopend naar het reservaat. Je hoort en ziet veel vogels, dat was heel leuk. Yvonne is een hele fijne gastvrouw, die ons leuk in ontvangst nam, met o.a. verse thee en voor in het appartement ook jam, jus d'orange en afbakbroodjes. Je kunt je fietsen veilig onder een afdakje stallen en voor wie dat leuk vind: een buurkat komt graag gedag zeggen en knuffelen. We hoorde zo nu en dan wel de buren van een huis verderop (een kind, blaffende hond en een paard die ergens niet heel blij mee was), maar over het algemeen is het zo rustig dat je alleen maar vogeltjes hoort. Het huisje was heel schoon en had alles voor een fijn verblijf. De keuken heeft ook het nodige voor een goede kooksessie (oven, handblender, enz.), daar werden we ook gelukkig van. Lang verhaal: we zouden met liefde terugkomen naar deze plek van Yvonne.
