Zuylestein Estate is a romantic seventeenth century estate with beautiful forests, meadows and fields. The estate is located at the foot of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug between Leersum and Amerongen. Within the walls of the estate are a large, historic vegetable garden with an estate store and an extensive historic Renaissance garden. There are extensive hiking and biking trails in the area. Zuylestein is a knight's estate with an impressive past. The many preserved drawings of the house and garden still today give a good overview of the developments Zuylestein went through over the centuries. The former knight's court was a place where many important administrators of our country met. Stadholder Frederick Henry of Orange Nassau (1630-1640) and later the Van Nassau Zuylestein family were former owners.
