You are looking for a place in nature and you have already seen the forests? And the sea too? Then we would like to welcome you to the Kromme Rijnstreek, then you really have something else! Schalkwijk is a tiny village in the middle of the farming landscape, just below Houten. A place with beautiful farms, lots of water, vast fields and polders. Our loft is the place to really get acquainted with this piece of Dutch nature. The nature house is located at the very back of our property and therefore you have complete privacy. There is a private entrance and there are two terraces. One overlooks the meadow with the pear tree, the Herenpeer, where the sheep often seek shelter in summer. The other is located next to the Loft, where you can also relax. Inside there is room for up to 5 p. In the large room there is a double bed (two single beds). And the small bedroom has a three-person bunk bed. The space is therefore also excellent for two couples.
Nature and surroundings
NATURE & ENVIRONMENT Immediately adjacent to the loft you look out over the meadows. Sheep in the pasture complete the picture. At the end, in the distance, you see the dike. You can walk here just fine. Because less than 15 minutes from the farm is behind the dike a recreational beach, located on De Lek. Lovely to spend summers there with some sun and a picnic basket. But it is also beautiful in lesser weather. The views of the Lek have been described by our previous guests as breathtaking. And that is true: the current, the trees here and there, geese flying overhead, a small island and in the distance on the other side of the water you can still see the church tower of Culemborg peeking out above the landscape. With Farm De Zalm as a start... You are welcome. As you walk down the dike along the Lek and turn right, you pass apple orchards and many farms. It is wonderful walking in the Kromme Rijn area with a huge diversity of experience.

Op de foto staan twee stapelbedden maar er is er maar één. We kregen niet genoeg handdoeken voor alle mensen die hadden geboekt.

Beste Elma, het is jammer je teleurgesteld bent in ons Natuurhuisje, je krijgt drie handdoeken per persoon, twee grote en een kleine, mocht je meer willen, dan kun je dit altijd vragen en wanneer we ons in het aantal vergist hebben, dan laat je dat natuurlijk weten, we corrigeren dit graag! En er is een wasmachine in ons Natuurhuisje. We hebben elkaar heel regelmatig gezellig gesproken tijdens jullie verblijf en jullie waren altijd positief over jullie verblijf, en natuurlijk hebben we ook een extra bed gegeven, omdat jullie daarom vroegen. En weet dat, wanneer je niet tevreden bent over de schoonmakers, geef dit dan ook heel graag aan! Ze doen hun uiterste best, en ze maken met plezier nog een keer schoon, wat ze misschien over het hoofd hebben gezien of vergeten zijn. Wij vinden het jammer dat je niet tevreden bent, maar om te zeggen dat we niet tussendoor schoonmaken, vind ik niet fair en eerlijk gezegd ook wel jammer gezien het leuke contact dat we hadden tijdens jullie verblijf.Nature, peace & environment:Dit is op een oude boerderij. Het was rustig maar als ik aan een natuur huisje denk dan is dit het niet.
