Nature house in Ommen

Set on a beautiful, mature property in the Vecht Valley, you’ll find this cozy little farmhouse full of character. It’s surrounded by trees, shrubs, and an idyllic woodland garden. French doors (with screens) lead out to a private garden. The cottage is close to our farmhouse but enjoys a very private setting. The cozy interior immediately makes you feel right at home. “This is where you’ll feel right at home,” our guests often tell us. The pellet stove with thermostat provides the cottage with a pleasant warmth. There’s a neat kitchen, a cozy dining area, and a lovely new lounge chair and sofa. You can store your clothes in the maid’s closet. The cottage has a small bathroom that was recently and stylishly renovated. The bedroom is cozy, featuring a 1.40 x 2.00 m double bed in the traditional “bedstee” style (accessible from one side). Do you love a cozy atmosphere and are you looking for peace and quiet, nature, and life in the woods? Then this cottage is the ideal spot. In the summer, this cottage stays wonderfully cool, so you can enjoy it even on the hottest days! Pellets are charged starting at 2 kg per day.

The nature house is located on the edge of a natural property. The owners, a couple with two children, moved here in 2020 to make their dream a reality: to show people how beautiful nature is, that nature “heals,” and that it brings you closer to your “inner nature.” On the property, you can enjoy a beautiful shared flower and pond garden. There is also a woodland garden with all kinds of herbs. The cottage borders a forest—you just need to cross the road. There are various hiking and biking trails along the route. The owners have a partnership with the Den Woesten Heide Estate, which borders the property. This beautiful estate features a wide variety of landscapes, including many hectares of forest, heathland, and nature reserves. The owners will be happy to show you around. If you want to run some errands or look for some entertainment, you’ll find one of Overijssel’s oldest Hanseatic towns about 5 km away: the town of Ommen. Here, you can relax (on a terrace) along the beautiful banks of the Vecht River.
