Nature house in Kockengen

A lovely little cottage with everything you need. We had a quiet and relaxing time. Hank and his wife are very nice and always available for questions. It was really nice to get to know these warm people. The cottage itself is very cozy and, thanks to the wood stove and electric oil heating, cozy and warm. All the necessary utensils for cooking and cleaning are available. You can also relax on the veranda and watch the ducks and other birds swimming along on the river. On average, you can be in Utrecht, Amsterdam or Gouda in 30 minutes by car, so day trips are easy to arrange. You can also go for walks in the countryside in the immediate vicinity of the cottage. Bicycles are also available. We had a really great time and can highly recommend Hank's little island!

Ein hübsches, kleines Häuschen mit allem, was man braucht. Wir hatten eine ruhige und entspannte Zeit. Hank und seine Frau sind sehr nett und bei Fragen immer erreichbar. Es war wirklich schön, diese herzlichen Menschen kennengelernt zu haben.
In der Hütte selbst ist es sehr gemütlich und dank Holzofen und elektrischer Ölheizung auch muckelig warm. Alle nötigsten Utensilien zum Kochen und Putzen sind vorhanden. Auf der Veranda kann man auch schön entspannen und den Enten und anderen Vögeln dabei zusehen, wie sie auf dem Flüsslein daherschwimmen.
Mit dem Auto ist man im Durchschnitt in 30min in Utrecht, Amsterdam oder Gouda, also sind Tagesausflüge super zu gestalten. In der direkten Umgebung der Hütte kann man auch gut in der Natur spazieren gehen.
Fahrräder stehen auch bereit.
Wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Zeit und können Hanks kleine Insel nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Here you will find a quiet little island that is only accessible on foot. The loudest thing you can hear when relaxing on the veranda are ducks and other birds. There is a footpath right in front of the island that takes you to a mill. We only occasionally met other people here and were able to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Hier findet ihr eine ruhige, kleine Insel, die nur zu Fuß erreichbar ist. Das lauteste, das man hört, wenn man auf der Veranda entspannt, sind Enten und andere Vögel.
Direkt vor der Insel ist ein Fußweg, der einen bis zu einer Mühle führt. Wir haben hier nur gelegentlich andere Leute getroffen und konnten die Ruhe genießen.

Host and wife are very helpful and quick to reach by phone. Wood goes through quickly but fortunately there are plenty of things! Sometimes the wood is a little damp and does not burn as well.

Gastheer en vrouw zijn erg behulpzaam en snel te bereiken via de telefoon. Hout gaat er snel doorheen maar gelukkig zijn er genoeg zaken! Soms is het hout wat vochtig en brand dit minder goed.

Beautiful location in the polder landscape where you really experience the restful and time-saving feeling. The possibility to go on it is there because of the bikes that are present. Cold frosty days can be fought with the wood stove that also leaves a wonderful woody smell where the cozy feeling attracts even more. Very nice experience and a break from city life is very pleasant

Prachtige locatie in het polderlandschap waarbij je echt het rustgevende en tijdremmende gevoel ervaart. De mogelijkheid om erop te gaan is er door de fietsen die aanwezig zijn. Koude vorstdagen zijn te bestrijden met de houtkachel die tevens een heerlijke houterige geur achterlaat waarbij het knusse gevoel zich nog meer aantrekt. Hele fijne ervaring en even ontrekken van het stadse leven is heel prettig

Very nice! Cozy, cozy and with fine stuff.

Heel fijn! Knus, gezellig en met fijne spullen.

Very nice place, by the water and the reeds. We walked, rowed, swam very briefly and slept wonderfully. Highlight was the rowing trip in the dark with starry sky and fog.

Heel fijne plek, bij het water en het riet. We hebben gewandeld, geroeid, heel even gezwommen en heerlijk geslapen. Hoogtepunt was de roeitocht in het donker met sterrenhemel en mist.
