Nature house in Dieden
North Brabant, Netherlands

Unwind in this cottage (80 m²) on the Maas River, with a view of the dike and the windmill. Upstairs, there is a spacious and bright living room/bedroom with a third bed in a box bed. The shower and toilet are located on the ground floor, as is the kitchen, which features French doors leading to the garden. The cottage is set in a beautiful garden with plenty of seating areas, and you can relax in a hammock. The garden is fully fenced. If you’re traveling with a dog, this is great for both you and your dog, who can run around to their heart’s content with our two female Cocker Spaniels. The sight of the windmill, which still turns from time to time, remains truly unique! The towns of Megen and Ravenstein offer many restaurants for a cozy dinner out, or you can choose to cook for yourself in the well-equipped kitchen. In the winter, you can sit comfortably in spacious armchairs in the kitchen by the wood stove. The surrounding area is perfect for biking and hiking. If you’d like, we can prepare a “starter breakfast package” for you on your first day.
Nature and surroundings
What never ceases to amaze us is how quiet it is here. Dieden is a ribbon village along the Maasdijk on the Maas River. It’s roughly halfway between Den Bosch (37 km) and Nijmegen (24 km), 5 km from the A50. The Maashorst—one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in Brabant (with an off-leash area for dogs)—is just around the corner! The Keent water storage area is also nearby. The meandering dike, surrounded by trees, is becoming increasingly popular with hikers and cyclists. Natuurmonumenten is developing an area for waterfowl in the Diedenseuiterwaard. In the garden, you can spot many species of birds, hear a braying donkey in the distance, or the rumbling engine of a passing ship. Our fenced-in garden is an oasis of tranquility, bursting with flowers in every season. In the spring, life bursts forth in the form of spring bulbs, followed by the beautiful season of blossoms. Dahlias bloom well into the fall. If you ask your host, you’re welcome to pick a bouquet during your stay.

A lovely little cottage, cozily furnished. The upper floor is phenomenal. We were there in the summer, so we spent most of our time outdoors, but we can easily imagine how wonderful it would be in the winter to sit downstairs by the wood stove or upstairs in front of the large doors. Han and Liesbeth were very friendly, offered helpful suggestions when needed, and also gave us plenty of space and privacy. Highly recommended!
Heerlijk huisje, knus ingericht. Absolute aanrader!
What a beautiful place Liesbeth and Han have created for their guests.
An incredibly large garden with all kinds of spots to sit in the sun or shade. You have plenty of privacy thanks to the way the garden is laid out. Surrounded by butterflies and birds (we even heard little owls!), we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cottage. From the garden, you can walk right onto the dike to take a stroll along the Meuse River.
This text is automatically translated. -

Great location, but the interior could use a fresh coat of paint.
Geweldige locatie, maar het interieur kan wel een schilderbeurt gebruiken.
A fantastic stay for a birthday weekend. The owners were so nice and picked a bouquet of flowers from the garden for me. Very thoughtful! I'd love to come back again.
Een fantastisch verblijf voor een verjaardagsweekend. De eigenaren waren zo aardig en maakten een boeket bloemen uit de tuin voor me. Heel attent! Ik kom graag nog eens terug.
