Now is the time of the BLOESEM! Unwind in this cottage (80m2) on the Meuse River overlooking the dike and mill. The cottage is located in a beautiful garden where you can spot owls, pheasants, and woodpeckers. The garden is fully fenced. If you book with a dog then this is fine for you and for the dog, it can run around to its heart's content together with our 2 cocker spaniel (females). You can cook in the kitchen or eat out in the many restaurants nearby. In winter you can sit comfortably in the kitchen by the wood stove. The area is perfect for cycling and hiking. You are welcome to book this cottage with 2-3 people and up to 2 (small/medium) dogs. See also our B&B (cottage 58099). With family or friends you can also rent both accommodations. By the way, we guarantee your privacy. The cottages are completely separated on our property. You cannot see or hear each other. The gardens are not separated. Please note this when booking with your dogs.

Nature and surroundings

What surprises us again and again is how quiet it is here. The work on the dike is finished, but the dike along our garden remains accessible only to local residents for the time being, so the silence is so intense here now, really special! Dieden is a ribbon village along the Maas dike on the river Maas. It lies roughly between Den Bosch (37 km) and Nijmegen (24 km) at 5 KM from the A50. The Keent, De Maashorst and the Herperduin are nearby. The meandering dike, surrounded by trees, is becoming more and more popular with hikers and cyclists. You can hear birds, the wind, a braying donkey in the distance or the heaving engine of a passing ship. Our enclosed garden is an oasis of tranquility with plenty of flowers in every season. In spring, life bursts forth in the form of spring bulbs followed by the beautiful season of blossoms. Well into the fall, many dahlias bloom. Should you ask nicely, you may pick a bouquet during your stay.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay a lot! When we wanted to enjoy the sun in the garden, there were several spots to sit and enjoy. And when it got a bit chilly, we could go inside and turn on the fire still with a nice view of the garden. When we arrived, Liesbeth even received us with the fire on inside the house, fresh juice from her garden, and some jam. She was very nice and flexible with our dog, and her dogs were also very friendly.

We sat in front of the fireplace all weekend, which was lovely. The shower is also blissful. If you can sit in the garden, that is also nice. The bed consists of two mattresses with a gap between them. It would be nice if that could be covered for couples with a topper or double mattress cover. The hosts are extremely friendly and pleasant.

The area is beautiful, lends itself well to cycling and just being. Due to work on the Meuse, you can experience the water a little less than we expected, but that didn't spoil the fun. The peace and quiet is blissful, no wifi, no TV. I did have to get used to the live wood in the cottage, in the sense that due to the heat of the fireplace, the wood in the cottage started to expand and make noise. But that also has a certain charm, because when do you hear that? All in all, definitely recommended.

Very nice, cozy cottage. Very friendly reception. The wood stove was already burning on arrival!!! Everything needed was present.

Beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet. Located on the dike on the Meuse. Too bad there were works and the walking path along the Meuse was partly inaccessible.
