Nature house in Velden

A wonderful base for exploring, but also a great place to just relax and do nothing.
The caretakers are true jack-of-all-trades—it’s amazing how they let nature take its course while still keeping it under control.
How Herman Marrisen manages to do it all is a mystery to me—he’s a glass artist, beekeeper, koi breeder, food forest manager, and bed-and-breakfast host, and he even finds time to give a tour of his glass studio.
He does all this with the support of his wife, Henny, who tends to the herbs, among other things, and who gave us a bag of delicious blueberries from the food forest as a farewell gift.
A tip for anyone who loves peace and nature.
The only downside is the gnats, but hey, that’s nature too—and DEET helps.

Een heerlijke uitvalsbasis maar ook een plek om lekker niks te doen.
De beheerders zijn duizendpoten geweldig hoe ze de natuur zijn gang laat gaan maar ook in toom houden.
Hoe Herman Marrisen dat allemaal doet is me een raadsel hij is glaskunstenaar, imker, koihouder ,voedselboshouder, bed and breakfast houder en ook nog tijd voor een rondleiding in zijn glasatelier.
Dit alles met de steun van zijn vrouw Henny die de o.a de kruiden verzorgt en waarvan we als afscheid een zak heerlijke blauwe bessen meekregen uit het voedselbos.
Een tip voor een ieder die van rust en natuur houd.
Enige vervelende zijn de knutjes maar ja is ook natuur en deet helpt.

Great—fully equipped with all the amenities, featuring a lovely, large garden with a unique catalpa tree—it’s really beautiful.

Prima van alle gemakken voorzien met heerlijke grote tuin met unieke katalpa boom heel mooi.

The cabin was dark. There were a lot of lamps and lights that it’s easy to forget to turn off.
We didn’t have enough lids for the pots.

De blokhut was donker. Er waren veel lampen en lampjes die je makkelijk vergeet uit te doen.
We misten voldoende deksels voor de pannen.

Stayed during a heat wave.
The air conditioning kept the cottage cool.
There was plenty of shade in the garden to sit in.
The brand-new bedroom also stayed cool thanks to the air conditioning.
Very friendly couple.
The large garden and the cottage’s location provided plenty of privacy.
We had a pleasant stay.

Verbleven tijdens hittegolf.
Door airco bleef het huisje koel.
In de tuin was veel schaduw om in te zitten.
Ook in de net nieuwe slaapkamer bleef het koel dankzij de airco.
Zeer vriendelijk echtpaar.
Door grote tuin en ligging huisje erg veel privacy.
We hebben een prettig verblijf gehad.

A very friendly and helpful owner, always up for a nice chat! And he has a glass gallery in the house with some really beautiful glassware!! And the cottage is truly fully equipped! They’ve thought of everything, down to the smallest details!!,including coffee, tea, and everything you need to light the wood stove: fire starters, matches, two types of gas lighters, pellets, plenty of firewood, compressed wood logs—everything you can think of is right there.And there’s a beautiful new addition with a large double bed you can walk around, a gorgeous vanity, a new shower area with both a rain shower and a regular showerhead, and a brand-new toilet.
Highly recommended!!

Een heel vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar ,altijd in voor een gezellige babbel !en die ook een glasgalerie in huis heeft met heel mooi glaswerk !!En het huisje is echt heel compleet! overal is aan gedacht ,tot aan de kleinste dingen toe !!,o.a koffie,thee en om de houtkachel aan te steken ,aanmaakblokjes,lucifers,2 soorten gasaanstekers,pelletkorrels,volop brandhout,geperstehoutblokken ,alles wat je je maar bedenken kunt zit/staat erin.En een mooie nieuwe aanbouw met een groot 2 pers bed,waar je rondom heen kunt,een schitterend mooi toiletmeubel,een niewe douche ruimte met een regen douche en een gewone ,een helmaal nieuw toilet.
Echt een aanrader !!

A truly beautiful location—stunning, and so much privacy—set in a lovely garden. If you want some shade, the catalpa tree provides plenty, and you can take a nice little nap on the lounge chairs in the garden.If you prefer the sun, there’s plenty of space for that too on the 2,000 m² property, and if the weather isn’t quite as nice, you can sit comfortably under the covered area to, among other things, grill on the provided BBQ. All in all, we highly recommend this location!!!!

Een geweldige mooie locatie,formidabel en wat een privacy,in een hele mooie tuin ,wil je in de schaduw dan geeft de catalpa (boom) echt heel veel schaduw en kun je daar lekker evn een dutje doen op de ligbedden die in de tuin staan,wil je in de zon ,en als daar is ook genoeg ruimte voor op 2000 m2,en als het weer wat minder is dan kun je lekker onder de overkapping zitten om o.a te BBQen op de aanwezige BBQ .Alles met elkaar is deze locatie vinden wij heel erg aan te bevelen !!!!
