Those seeking peace and quiet are welcome! This nature house features an open-concept living room and kitchen, and 3 bedrooms with double beds that can also be separated into two single beds. Each bedroom has its own small bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower. The entire house is equipped with central heating. Upon prior arrangement, groups requiring many single rooms can increase the number of bedrooms. The house has a cozy living/dining room where two tables can be joined to form one long table. Adjacent to this living/dining room is a simple kitchen equipped with a large refrigerator, a 4-burner ceramic cooktop, and plenty of dishes. Separate from the red wooden house is a white stone building. This is the recreation room. It also features a kitchenette and all necessary amenities. This space is heated by a wood stove that provides cozy, pleasant warmth. The room can also be used as a classroom. No noisy groups, please!
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is modern and features a lovely, large garden where you can enjoy both sun and shade, sit in quiet spots along the banks of the Swalm, or relax on a patio right by the house. The surrounding nature reserves, Groenewoud and De Hout, are located in the Swalm Valley and are managed by Staatsbosbeheer. There are plenty of lovely walks, both short and long, starting right from the guesthouse. The guesthouse is located on the outskirts of the village of Swalmen. A beautiful walk along the Swalm River takes you to the village center, where you’ll find shops, supermarkets, and a wide selection of dining options. An outdoor swimming pool is a 10-minute walk away. Roermond and Maastricht are lovely cities to visit. Fun day trips include a visit to Bruggen (10 kilometers), which features a fascinating nature and hunting museum, and a beautiful playground with a small zoo. Tegelen (12 kilometers) has a playground and a climbing park. The white town of Thorn is 15 kilometers away. In Steyl, you’ll find the Mission Museum and the botanical garden.
