Nature house in Twisk

On this spot has been the "old" stable of the farm for over 150 years. In very early days the pigs and later the horses stood here. Now completely converted into two luxury apartments in which a number of old details have been preserved. The total area of the nature house is about 45 m2. There is a sitting area, a dining area, a kitchen with all facilities, a bathroom and of course a sleeping area. The sleeping area is accessed via a staircase.The nature house is equipped with underfloor heating and air conditioning so that in summer and winter it is wonderful to stay. The beds are made upon arrival and we have towels, bathrobes, tea towels etc. ready.

Our yard covers over 6000 m2 and what makes it special is that there are a lot of trees and not too "neat". The vegetable garden that was once planted in the 50's has gone wild and has now been transformed into a micro-forest with a nature all its own. There is a great diversity of birds to be seen, from the great spotted woodpecker, green woodpecker, tree creepers, eurasian jay, chaffinches, song thrushes to the little owl (which has been breeding in the yard for generations).Hares walk in the field and sometimes even in the garden, bats and swallows fly high and low. In the neighboring fields the curlew, egrets and various special meadow birds can be admired, and less than 3 kilometers away is the Twisk water storage area that was established more than 13 years ago by the Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier. The area has been made attractive for breeding rare marsh birds. Crested and crested ducks, grass and water pipits, snipe and bittern have been seen.
