About this nature house
This naturehouse is a 50 m2 timber cottage with a unique room of 30m2 downstair + a 20m2 bedroom loft upstairs with a large bed for two persons. There is a simple kitchen corner (gaz cooker, gaz fridge, work bench, sink), a large dining table for 8 persons, a comfortable bed sofa and a Jotul wood burner. There is no running water or electricity, only traditional candles, oil lamps, solar lamps and a strong powerbank for loading devices via usb cable. Fresh crystal clear water can be fetch on a small stream 150 m away (containers available). Garbage could be selected either to compost or to recyclable bags or garbage. Just beside the cabin, there is a 10 m2 sauna, with a small dressing room and a large terrace of 20m2. The sauna is equipped with a harvia wooden stove + 25 liters tank to warm up water. There are 2 large benches of 245 cm long to enjoy the sauna heat. 5 m beside the sauna, there is a traditional "utedass", a dry compost toilet.
Nature and surroundings
This timber cabin has been built in 2001 on a remote place with a beautiful overview on Mount Niebsurte (990 m). It is located 100 m from Laisan river shoreline on a slope, accessible either by boat from the village Laisvallby or by walking 300 m from the forest road Laisdalenvägen. In winter, it is accessible either by skis or snowmobile. The cabin is located at the core of Laisdalen old mountain forest, a large nature reserve 100 km long, located on both sides of the Lais river. Here you encounter wild, magnificent mountain forest, slowly climbing to the alpine highland. In the middle of the area lies Delliknäs, a settlement built in 1892. Here you can gain insight into the arduous life of settlers in times past. The old growth mountain forest in Laisdalen Nature Reserve is 794 square kilometres in size. The King’s Trail -kungslenden- and several other trails, including snowmobile trails, pass through Laisdalen.
