Bird watching Cycling Hiking

Peace, space, nature, and culture! This cottage is located in a beautiful nature reserve. From the cottage, you have a lovely, unobstructed view of the fields and the edge of the forest. In winter, it’s pleasantly warm thanks to the cozy stove, and in summer, the cottage stays wonderfully cool. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, fully equipped, and tastefully decorated. In the sunroom, you can enjoy sitting “outdoors” as soon as the first rays of sunshine appear, and the spacious garden also features several cozy seating areas. From the driveway, you can walk or bike right into nature. We’re surrounded by beautiful and diverse nature reserves, such as the Oude Buisse Heide, the Wallsteijn Estate, the Reten, the Pannenhoef, Monninksmoeren, the Lange Maten, and the Rucphense Heide.

Nature and surroundings

This nature house is located in a wooded area. The natural landscape here is very diverse, ranging from heathland to ponds, from historic estates and forests to meadows. It is situated along the Turfvaart area, where, as the name suggests, peat was once harvested and transported via the canal to Breda. This area has a rich history filled with many beautiful stories. The Oude Buisse Heide was a major source of inspiration for Henriëtte Roland Holst, and she wrote several poems about it that you’ll come across along the way. There are many beautiful hiking and biking trails in the area, some of which have been mapped out by Natuurmonumenten. You’ll also come across cozy restaurants and cafes along the way. In Zundert, you’ll find the Van Gogh House, as well as charming shops and restaurants. Want to experience the lively atmosphere of a city? That’s certainly possible too—we’re located between the bustling cities of Breda and Antwerp.
