Once again this year my yurt is in the small orchard next door. It is an exclusive spot in a unique piece of peat meadow area at the Kagerplassen near Leiden. This season the yurt has a green sunshade and is even less noticeable in its green surroundings. Spending the night in a yurt is a special experience. We are guests in the yard of a farm . A small-scale, sustainable breeding farm of old Dutch Lakenvelder cattle. The Boterhuispolder is a unique peat meadow area. For centuries relatively little has changed here in parceling, management and drainage. The irregular allotment and creeks are unique in the region. The construction of the Boterhuispolderpad(2019) makes the polder accessible to cyclists and hikers all year round. The 2 puddle-wash plots and lowered banks make the polder an oasis for meadow birds. For many water sports enthusiasts, the Kagerplassen are well known. It is a system of peat lakes with relatively large islands. A 5-minute walk away you can rent sailboats and sloops to explore. The Royal water sports club "De Kaag" is a 10-minute walk and ferry crossing. There you will find a restaurant with a lovely terrace. A visit to Leiden "the city of discoveries" is definitely worthwhile.

Lovely camping vibe with a small stove, refrigerator and stove to keep it nice and warm. Outside also lovely chairs and a fire bowl, torches and wood to make it wonderfully to your liking with views over the meadows and in the distance the lights of the city. Unfortunately we had strong wind and rain but that just made it extra cozy inside with the many mood lights. Top!
Heerlijke camping vibe met een klein gasstelletje, koelkastje en kacheltje om het lekker warm te stoken. Buiten ook heerlijke stoelen en een vuurschaal, fakkels en hout om het heerlijk naar je zin te maken met uitzicht over de weilanden en in de verte de lichtjes van de stad. Helaas hadden wij harde wind en regen maar dat maakte het binnen juist extra knus met de vele sfeerverlichting. Top!

Beetje kamperen, veel op kniehoogte, dat kan niet anders, voor ons soms lastig.
Prima bed, en alles aanwezig.Nature, peace & environment:Bijzonder verblijf, wij waren er ook met Poly (de zomerstorm van begin juli), daardoor maakten we de natuur in al zijn hevigheid mee. Yurt blijft prima staan, kacheltje aan voor een behaaglijke warmte. Was goed te doen.
Fijne plek, met nieuwsgierige Lakenvelders als buren. En heel veel ruimte, genieten van de zonsopgang en zonsondergang. Dat wil zeggen, de horizon is de hele dag te zien. Top.
