Our little house on the Lake! How we love it! is a little piece of paradise 35 km from Rome, rich in Nature but not only. Besides the lake, the fishing, the incredible fauna and flora of this place that is included in the Castelli Romani Regional Park, there are stupendous archaeological sites that make it unique and full of charm: the Temple of Diana, Caesar's Villa (of which very little remains), the Museum of the Ships of Caligula whose history is incredible and so much more.
Nature and surroundings
The basin of Lake Nemi is considered a place with a special microclimate; in fact, here, thanks to the protection of the volcanic crater, the winds are always mild and favorable to the birth of species ranging from tropical ones, such as banana trees and water lilies, to more mountainous ones such as fir or chestnut trees. The little strawberries of Nemi, famous throughout Lazio, grow precisely because of this microclimate.
