This unique detached bungalow is equipped with a circular grass roof which allows optimal air circulation in the house and perfectly suited for people with respiratory diseases (e.g. COPD). The bungalow is suitable for 4 persons and offers privacy and tranquility. The beds have comforters. You can rent bed linen at the reception. However, this is not mandatory. SMOKING and PETS are not allowed in this nature house. The grass roof is centrally located in the region of Southwest Drenthe. The cottage is located in the village of Vledder near Steenwijk and Havelte. Colonies of Weldadigheid - UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Society of Weldadigheid was founded 200 years ago by Johannes van den Bosch, in the year 1818. Van den Bosch wanted to eradicate poverty in the Netherlands with the help of the Colonies of Weldadigheid. The idea was that the state would pay for land and housing and the poor would provide for their own maintenance by working. The Maatschappij van Weldadigheid founded a total of seven agricultural colonies. Five in the Netherlands and two in Belgium. Frederiksoord is home to Museum de Proefkolonie, which provides information about the extraordinary past of the Colonies of Weldadigheid.
