Nature house in an old courtyard, here you can taste the flavor of other times and in direct contact with nature. The house has belonged to my family since 1925 when my grandmother, who emigrated to Argentina, returned to Italy with her 4 children after being widowed. It is a modest but solid house leaning against a rock wall, this gives it the peculiarity of being cool in summer and warm in winter. It is located within the regional park of the Stirone River, a beautiful nature reserve. Spectacular hiking and mountain biking trails make it particularly interesting for enthusiasts. On your walks you may encounter roe deer, foxes, squirrels, wild boar, and different types of birds such as the bee-eater, kestrel, and barn owl that come as far as the house. Guests will be sent a google map with points of interest and tips for a stay in touch with the local culture.
Nature and surroundings
Nature house is located in the shadow of Vigoleno Castle that can also be reached by a pleasant walk. The castle dates back to the 10th century and was renovated in 1922 by Princess Ruspoli Gramond espited famous poets and artists of the 20th century: D'Annunzio, Max Ernst, Jean Cocteau, Mary Pickford, Elsa Maxwell. The surrounding area boasts beautiful vineyards where the characteristic Vin Santo is produced, an all-natural raisin wine made using traditional techniques, aged in barrels for at least 5 years, and other wines that you can taste in the many wineries. The Stirone stream is the subject of scientific studies of international relevance for the presence of marine sediments particularly rich in fossiliferous finds referable to the Upper Miocene, Pliocene and Pleistocene (the oldest dating back 8 million years). Nearby are numerous places of tourist interest: Salsomaggiore Terme, Parma, Busseto birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi and Giovannino Guareschi.

Bob August 11, 2025 General rating:When we were there, there were very many small mosquitoes at night, anti-mosquito spray was indicated. The other animals (squirrels, deer) were just beautiful to watch....
Nature, peace & environment:Lovely quiet area, lots of greenery. Good bed, but if you are taller than 1m90 the sofa bed might be a better alternative. Friendly neighbors and 20 minutes from the charming town of Salsomaggiore. Calm and relaxation were the keywords of our stay.

Eveline April 20, 2025 General rating:The cottage is very basic. No heating but a lovely fireplace.Fantastic beds and shutters for the windows so it was nice and dark. There is no wifi and difficult to reach, so take good books or board games with you, you will totally relax. If you are a nature lover, this cottage and this environment is a must.Very friendly owner.
Heel vriendelijke eigenaresse.Nature, peace & environment:Secluded authentic cottage in the middle of a nature reserve Torente Stirone, where we made many walks. Also go climb the monte pietra nera: beautiful views. Many castles nearby. Vigoleno and Arquato were beautiful.

Melanie August 15, 2024 General rating:We will be back any time.
Wir kommen jederzeit wieder.
Nature, peace & environment:It was wonderful. Peace, absolute peace. Anna gave us a lovely welcome. It is very remote, exactly what we wanted. But you should bring some food with you, the next shopping opportunity is further away. We had everything with us... Coffee, bread, drinks, pasta etc. just like camping. The bed was very comfortable.
Es war wunderschön. Ruhe, absolute Ruhe.
