Nature house in Medemblik

No toilet in the cottage but also big steps to get on the path. I could not see the path in the night.
No water in the cottage; the son of madam unfriendly.
Dogs were actually not welcome. Our little dog was allowed to stay there but walking on the property with the dog on leash also not good.

Geen toilet in het huisje maar ook grote afstappen om op het pad te komen. Ik kon in de nacht het pad niet zien.
Geen water in het huisje.
De zoon van mevrouw onvriendelijk.
Honden waren eigenlijk niet welkom. Ons hondje mocht er verblijven maar op het terrein lopen met de hond aan de riem ook al niet goed.

When we arrived, we already saw the cottage. We were looking forward to our stay! Since Inge was not at the reception desk at that time, I called her to check in. At that moment it seemed like we were ''bothering'' her because she was in the store (''I can't split myself in two''). We felt like we were bothering her even though we paid quite a high amount for the cottage (which was fine but basic and not necessarily very clean). Also the day after (when we went for lunch at the picnic table after checking out) we were completely ignored. Again, as if we were inconveniencing Inge. This did not feel welcoming and it came across as rather hostile.

Toen we aankwamen zagen we het huisje al staan. We hadden zin in ons verblijf! Omdat Inge op dat moment niet bij de receptie was belde ik haar om in te checken. Het leek op dat moment alsof we haar ''stoorden'' omdat ze in de winkel stond (''ik kan mezelf niet in tweeën splitsen''). We hadden het idee dat we haar tot last waren terwijl we toch best een hoog bedrag hebben betaald voor het huisje (dat prima maar basic en niet perse heel schoon was). Ook de dag erna (toen we na het uitchecken nog even gingen lunchen aan de picknicktafel) werden we compleet genegeerd. Wederom alsof we Inge tot last waren. Dit voelde niet gastvrij en het kwam nogal vijandig over.

Het strandje was leuk

lovely bed with fresh linen, fresh towels and soaps. Mosquito net is provided which is a great value because the gaps between the wood are large, but also provide extra ventilation (=airco ;)) Those who are not afraid of a spider will absolutely have a great time here! We had that too. Just a pity that the dog could not run free. An extra gate maybe so that the terrace on the ecolodge is closed?

heerlijk bed met vers linnen, verse handdoeken en zeepjes. Muggennet is voorzien wat een grote meerwaarde is want de kieren tussen het hout zijn groot, maar zorgen ook voor extra ventilatie (=airco ;)) Wie niet bang is van een spinnetje zal het hier absoluut naar zijn zin hebben! Dat hadden wij ook. Alleen jammer dat de hond niet los kon. Een extra poortje misschien zodat het terrasje op de ecolodge afgesloten is?
