A dive into the past. Welcome to a group of old stone houses on the hills between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. The guests' apartment is about 40 m2 with a private entrance as part of the main house. It is designed not only to offer a completely relaxing time, but also to let guests feel the emotions and rhythm of life from the past. To enter the apartment, go up the stone stairs and enter through a small medieval door (watch your head!). The apartment consists of a spacious room with a night area, a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. There is a small balcony in front of the door with a beautiful view of the ruins of the ancient castle "Castellaccio". Heating is provided by a large tiled wood stove in the old medieval fireplace. So the heating is not automatic, everyone has to keep the fire on....this also has its charm! We live on the upper floors, Betta and Leonardo with our animals, the cat Maragnao and 2 dogs Griso and Mora.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is an ideal place for relaxing days and getting in touch with nature. You can go hiking or just take a pleasant walk in our chestnut woods. There are many mountain bike trails or you can enjoy the typical festivals of the village of Castel del Rio that you can also reach in half an hour walk through the woods. The nearby river Santerno offers the opportunity for a refreshing bath in many places that you can reach by car. The house is about 3 km from the village of Castel del Rio so you will not find stores, restaurants and bars. The house is surrounded by a green landscape, with forests, hills and small rivers.
