Nature house in Zonhoven

The welcome was incredibly warm.

Het ontvangst was enorm hartelijk.

The highways in the area (De Teut Nature Reserve) are very noticeable. We weren't able to enjoy complete peace and quiet.
It was a lot better in the Hoge Kempen Nature Reserve, though.

De snelwegen in de omgeving (natuurgebied de Teut) zijn erg aanwezig. Wij konden niet genieten van totale rust.
In natuurgebied de Hoge Kempen was het wel een stuk beter.

A place where we quickly felt at home. The cottage is fully equipped. Stefan and Imelda are very friendly hosts. It was nice spending time with their dog, Shiva, who occasionally sniffs around and plays in the spacious garden.

Een plek waar we ons snel thuis voelden. Huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien. Stefan en Imelda zijn zeer aardige verhuurders. Gezellig met hond Shiva die af en toe in de ruime tuin snuffelt en speelt.

A lovely little cottage—quiet, cool in the summer, and spacious. Large windows in the living area overlook the spacious, green garden; a nature reserve is within walking distance—just walk past the horse pastures and you’ll be there in no time. And there are all kinds of fun activities in the area.

Fijn huisje, rustig, koel in de zomer en ruimtelijk. Grote ramen bij het zitgedeelte wat op de ruime groene tuin uitkijkt, natuurgebied op loopafstand, eerst even langs de paardenweides en dan ben je er zo. En allerlei leuke activiteiten in de omgeving.

The cottage itself contains everything you need, where we were greatly charmed by the decor. Lots of colors, instead of always just white, cream, brown and black. Plus lots of paintings made by Imelda. The cottage is also wonderfully cool and stayed nice and cool even without using the air conditioning. And that was convenient because we had 3 days of 30 degrees there. Cycled a lot in the area. Belgian Limburg makes the slogan "cycling paradise" more than true. Thank you Stefan and Imelda for your hospitality and thank you for the nice farewell gift.

Het huisje zelf bevat alles wat je nodig hebt, waarbij wij enorm gecharmeerd waren van de inrichting. Veel kleuren, i.p.v. altijd maar wit, crème, bruin en zwart. Plus heel veel schilderijen die door Imelda zijn gemaakt. Het huisje is ook heerlijk koel en bleef ook lekker koel, zelfs zonder de airco te gebruiken. En dat kwam goed uit, want wij hadden er 3 dagen 30 graden. Heel veel gefietst in de omgeving. Belgisch Limburg maakt de slogan 'fietsparadijs' meer dan waar. Dankjewel Stefan en Imelda voor de gastvrijheid en dank voor het leuke afscheidscadeautje.

We had located something in reviews about a road nearby. So we knew that before we booked. Yes, it is a busy road and yes, you can hear the highway when the wind comes from the north. Inside you hear nothing of it, but - with this nice weather - we enjoyed sitting outside. It did not bother us further. There is a lovely garden at the cottage, where you can always find a place in the sun or shade as needed.

We hadden in recensies al iets gelegen over een weg vlakbij. Dus dat wisten we voordat we boekten. Ja, het is een drukke weg en ja, je hoort als de wind uit het noorden komt de snelweg. Binnen hoor je er niks van, maar - met dit mooie weer - hebben we lekker buiten gezeten. Het heeft ons verder niet gestoord. Er zit een heerlijke tuin bij het huisje, waar je naar behoefte altijd wel een plek in de zon of de schaduw kunt vinden.
