Nature and surroundings

This nature house is located in the impressive coulisse landscape of the Vechtdal in Overijssel near Ommen and Hardenberg. In September 2020 the project Ruimte voor de Vecht was completed in front of our cottage. From this project the summer and winter bed of the Vecht was rearranged. This transformed the "old" meadow in front of the cottage, into a more natural environment complete with slopes and frog pools. The area is rich in natural beauty and is home to countless plant and animal species. These include many songbirds, birds of prey and various species of woodpeckers. But also squirrels, badgers and deer are often seen. The environment is varied; forest reserves, moors, sand drifts, fens and farmlands. Inviting for cycling and walking on the many (un)paved paths in and around Diffelen.
