This nature house is located in central Sweden , near the Norwegian border, in the region of Värmland (Torsby), not far from the village of Lekvattnet. The region is characterized by vast forests with lakes, tundra-like plains and is slightly hilly. This is rugged and unspoiled area where nature is still truly wild. This nature house is an old hunting cabin from the late 1960s, which is located at the highest point of the area on the west flank of the Rottna valley. It is a "back to basics" destination. where you can relax. No running water, no electricity connection. Lighting powered by solar panels. For heat there is a wood stove(5eur/night). Cooking on gas.(possibly Fridge on gas,4eur/night) Water in jerry cans. Toilet is a dry toilet. Showering or doing your laundry, can be done by appointment at other location(extra charge).Charging station for car at 4km distance. Our own residential location is 4 km away on the river in the valley. Here you can possibly with questions,clinics,sauna and help.
Nature and surroundings
The area has much to offer nature lovers who want "back to basics".Summer and Winter. In the right time of year there are e.g. berries, blackberries, mushrooms and much more in abundance. There is also a lot of Finnish culture here. Most of sweden's Finnish smoke-stugas can be found in this area. The cottage is located on a gravel road, from where you can directly start your hiking (cross country) and trekking through these incredibly beautiful vast forests and tundra plains. For the active adventurers we also offer (in consultation, extra payment) various guided tours and clinics. Canoeing,swimming,fishing,rifle300mtr target shooting,wood fire cooking,mushroom/ berry picking,beaver-eland-wolf spotting,snowskoter/argo 6x6/atv trip,snowshoe hiking,ice fishing,skiing,cross country skiing,sauna,etc. For those who enjoy themselves, there is a Finnskogen Natur Wellnes program inc. massages.
