A lovely house, simply and tastefully decorated. We had beautiful weather and actually spent more time outside than inside. There are two terraces, one overlooking the sea and one behind the house where you can sit in the shade of a beautiful fig tree.

Een heerlijk huis, eenvoudig en smaakvol ingericht. We hadden prachtig weer en zijn eigenlijk meer buiten geweest dan binnen. Er zijn twee terrassen, één met uitzicht over de zee en één achter het huisje waar je fijn in de schaduw van een prachtige vijgenboom kan zitten.

Actually only a stone's throw from the touristy Nazaré, here you find yourself in a true idyll. Located on a secluded spot on the hill you have beautiful views over the sea and at night you can see on the right in the distance the lights of the city. To get to the house you have to walk the last part of a dirt road, this adds to the experience of being completely out of this world. (But for people with mobility problems, or for whom it is difficult to carry luggage, it is not recommended) If you have the windows open at night, you can hear the sound of the waves. The beach below is about a 20-minute walk down a dirt road. Here you won't meet anyone and on also the vast beach most of the time no person was to be seen. The only people we encountered were the Spanish guests of a nearby vacation home, located a little higher up the hill.

Eigenlijk maar op een steenworp afstand van het toeristische Nazaré, bevind je je hier in een ware idylle. Gelegen op een afgelegen plek op de heuvel heb je prachtig uitzicht over de zee en ‘s avonds zie je aan de rechterkant in de verte de lichtjes van de stad. Om bij het huis te komen moet je het laatste deel van een zandweg lopen, dit draagt bij aan de ervaring helemaal van de wereld te zijn. (Maar voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn, of voor wie het lastig is bagage mee te dragen, is het af te raden) Als je de ramen ‘s nacht open hebt, hoor je het geluid van de golven. Het strand beneden is op ca 20 minuten lopen over een zandpad. Hier kom je niemand tegen en op ook het uitgestrekte strand was het grootste deel van de tijd geen mens te zien. De enige mensen die we tegenkwamen waren de Spaanse gasten van een nabijgelegen vakantiewoning, iets hoger op de heuvel gelegen.

The house had everything we needed and all in great condition. There is a master bedroom and a second room that does not have the view and is not as light - fine for children perhaps but with 4 adults one couple had the short straw.
It's a really nice 30-40 minute walk to the beach which was mostly deserted, and lovely.

It's a challenging walk to the house if you have a lot of luggage but once there it is great - very secluded and peaceful. Birdsong during the day and firefly display at night. The view over the Atlantic is spectacular.
